Finshed DOOM 1 + 2's "No Rest for the Living" expansion. Level designs with more complex geometry, getting closer to Build engine designs with some cool mechanics/secrets build in and a bit more traditional in terms of difficulty/enemy spawns. I really liked this one. Next up: Romero's Sigil I.

#IRONLUNG: Biggest issue was the pacing, making it feel a bit stretched/long. Great production value, genuine care for the source material, expands the lore. Cool sets, (practical) effects, sound design and music. Markiplier CAN act and the supporting cast was great! Flawless? No. Impressive? YES.

Holy shit Hasan switched to Youtube today because of his (wrongful) ban on Twitch and the numbers on YouTube are crazy... started around 70k-100k viewers in the first 20 mins and the Superchats are now flying past like a rainbow. The ban on Twitch actually helped him grow a way bigger live audience.

Well shit... I didn't expect to see Iron Lung being part of my local movie theatre line-up. I might actually go and watch it tomorrow. Seeing this specific film on the big screen is definitely a rare opportunity.

Happy 30th anniversary to DUKE NUKEM 3D. One of my favorite "boomer" FPS games of all time. Authentic feeling locations, interactive world, humor, references and macho hero attitude. The first FPS I played multi-player and the first game I made my own levels for using the Build Editor.

I was a bit puzzled by the fact that they cast Jared Leto as Skeletor in the upcoming "Masters of the Universe movie". I decided to watch a compilation of his Suicide Squad Joker scenes and focused on his voice/laugh. And I know this will be a controversial take... but I can kind of hear it work?

Just finished "The Plutonia Experiment" DOOM II expansion on Ultra Violence for the first time. Definitely a big challenge with some nasty monster closets and crowd control moments, but also some neat level designs and tricky secrets. Not bad at all. Up next: "No Rest for the Living".

There have been some voices from people in the focus testing group for Highguard prodding people that it's actually a really fun game. I really hope it is. It would be nice to have more good round-based FPS games. What if this can stand it's ground and win an audience with a non-marketing release.

I have a feeling Trump is working on his bucket list, trying to have as much impact on the world as he can being president and see how far he can go before his lights go out. He's not president to "be president", he's just there playing with power, puppets and toy soldiers.

Oh snap, a new live-action He-Man movie is coming, full trailer tomorrow. I haven't watched the new animated series but the classic 80's series is a vivid childhood memory, even though I don't think I remember any story details, mostly the iconic power up scenes and the toys we had.

Oh snap, a new live-action He-Man movie is coming, full trailer tomorrow. I haven't watched the new animated series but the classic 80's series is a vivid childhood memory, even though I don't think I remember any story details, mostly the iconic power up scenes and the toys we had.
"Highguard" was a big "one more thing" world premiere at the Game Awards. But the trailer showed another hero-based PVP shooter with horses and didn't seem to really wow anyone. It's out next week with no fanfare or marketing train and I hope it's an unexpected success, but it smells like Concord.

Currently playing through "The Plutonia Experiment" expansion on Ultra Violence in DOOM I + II. Definitely a "quicksave-a-lot" level pack that will test you. And the mapmakers really *LOVE* using Arch-viles huh? But there's some neat map designs using cool little tricks here and there too.

Watched M. Night Shyamalan's "Old" (2021). A concept that tries to squeeze in disturbing set pieces including one that felt really forced and weird. It also has unanswered questions for the "mechanics" of the main concept itself and a mediocre twist. Some of the acting is also really robotic.
