"I got a rubber duck!"

I haven't been this hooked to a PVP(VE) game in a long time. Aside from the iffy AI voice lines it oozes passion in every little detail and it's technical presentation. My personal GOTY.

Yes, I agree with you. I hope it's NOT going to be normalized. Most studio's are still against it, I just hope a studio like Embark change their methods and doesn't let Nexon push them to use even more unethical AI tools. I sort of understand the use for in-game call outs, but not for quest dialog.

True but a lot of that was also placeholder assets that were left in the game unintentionally or gave an excuse that it was because of time pressure and they had apologized for not disclosing this on the Steam page. We only knew because people spotted it and called them out. It's inevitable but sad.

Thanks for that.

They're using Arc Raiders as an example which only used AI tools for their traders dialog and in-game contextual call outs (as far as we know). And the result is that traders sound very robotic and soulless, NOT a positive outcome for the use of AI tools. And everyone notices it.

The AI NPC dialog, especially the traders and cutscenes voice overs are the ONLY big black mark I (and many others) have against Arc Raiders. it's the one stand-out thing that feels ugly and out of place. People have NOT accepted the use of this, they need to read the room.

All NPC dialog is AI generated using AI voice models trained with hired actors. This also includes cutscenes and trader dialog for trade quips and quest dialog. They did this so they can basically add new quests content and briefings real fast without needing to schedule recording sessions.
