Very little if anything seems to have changed on the ground. ICE is still out there terrorizing neighborhoods and trying to disappear neighbors. None of us on the ground are buying this bullshit. We will keep organizing and fighting.
The intense fallout from the killing of Alex Pretti has forced President Trump to publicly change course in Minneapolis.

Listen to our White House reporters discuss the changes on today's episode of "The Daily."

One thing I believe, as a white person, is far too many white people forget the debt that activism in the US owes generally to the Civil Rights movement, and how much the instruments of power that Stephen Miller is trying to extend across the country are those of Jim Crow.
These words demand attention.

“In a real sense this is holy ground, consecrated by blood spilled here. The cost is high, and so I had to be here to stand in the very place where this tragedy unfurled… I think we’re at a defining moment for our country…” ~ Rev Warnock

One downside of hiring lightweights and loyalists as Cabinet members is that they fail to defend their agencies from being destroyed. This happened w DOGE, for example. Now Noem is learning what it means to be responsible - it is to accept blame.

If media is going to claim a "pivot," let's stipulate some threshold questions: Is ICE still treating US cities like occupied territory? Will there be serious governmental investigations into ICE killings? Any accountability for them? If not, nothing is changing. 2/

I'm calling bullshit on the media narrative that Trump is "pivoting" and "deescalating" on his ICE raids. The threshold is this: As long as the military occupations and the treatment of US cities as enemy territory continue, there's no pivot. ICE out. 1/
