So let me get this straight: The President’s plan to lower prices is to roll back some of his own tariffs?

That's a great outline for a farcical stage okay, or maybe a renegade Hallmark movie.
It's gotta be frustrating for journalists scraping by and doing great work to go to NY Times dot com and read a puff piece written by a nepo baby that whitewashes a journalist who had sex with a source and has now parlayed that into a new book and a job at Vanity Fair

Nuzzi, like TCW, exists as a kind of simulacrum of the midcentury public intellectual. Not even ripping off the writers of that era, but imitating a sort of half-remembered, half-invented idea of what those writers were sort of like and what their general vibe was.

It's all about investing those taxes in the right places making a much better place to live. Rich people want rich lives (just like everyone else...shhh).
And we knew this. This wasn't speculation. We studied it, we had the talking points. We trained volunteers to explain this to people. It's not a surprise. Rich people don't flee places with good quality of life when we increase the quality of life. They might try to cheat us, but they don't leave.
NEW: The first two years of Massachusetts' millionaire tax has raised $3 billion more than expected.

And rather than driving the rich away, IPS researchers found that the number of millionaires has *increased.*

In many cases, taxpayer funds were used to train the very scientists who have been fired by Trump and RFK Jr. Their training was investment in everyone’s health.

The US taxpayer has been defrauded by The Regime. Waste, fraud and abuse is their motto. Every accusation is a confession.

I have to reiterate that the loss to the United States of so many excellent scientists who were fired by Donald Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is catastrophic to the future of the country.

And also to the present of the country.

She led a team who wrote a sign-on letter critical of The Regime.

A person at NIH asked to give a reason for her leave called her “radical leftist”; while the NIH Director has claimed that “dissent is productive”.

A lot of people have helped Trump cover up his involvement with Epstein. They need to think very carefully about their choices going forward. It's one thing to cheer on his ballroom or root for DOGE. Running interference for pedophiles is something the history books won’t forget.

A real president would just fire Bessent for both performance and lying.
QUESTION: If prices are down and not up because of tariffs — why is Bessent saying they’re going to lower tariffs on coffee, bananas, etc to lower prices? 🤔

ANSWER: Because they are lying. Tariffs are a tax on you, and prices are UP.

Excellent, esp with the new Epstein emails. It appears Trump has outlived his usefulness and Republicans will now quickly dump him before the midterms. Oligarchs will switch their funding so there will be little defense and Project 2025 will continue. This rolls downhill fast on his sycophants.
