Despite the wind yesterday, my yard was filled with finches and chickadees. I was deterred from sitting outside but they don't seem to mind the wimdy.

On the ACA marketplace, I pay $300/month for the privilege of a $6,000 deductible. Republicans are ok shutting the govt down so I can pay more next year.

Here is my main opinion on AI, in every capacity: What is the point of technology? Is it to make our lives better and easier, or is it to make a very small percentage of people richer? The latter is what AI is doing. The people actually doing the coding are making themselves redundant.

The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennett! Or, of course, The Murderbot Diaries by Martha Wells! Just did a reread and enjoyed it even more the second time.

Whenever someone—and it’s usually an agèd, agèd man—asks where all the great writers are today, I usually think two things. First, it’s a sign they don’t read much contemporary work: they don’t know who the important writers are now, and they mistake their knowledge gap for a gap in the real world.

In the state that has led the country in climate change-related deaths, solitude is a climate risk. Black Phoenix residents are using new community spaces to combat both isolation and climate change.

Important Colorado geography lesson: Most severe weather in Adams, Arapahoe, and Weld Counties happens in the rural parts of those counties.

If you see Adams/Arapahoe/Weld severe or tornado warned, know which part of the county you live in!

Like I said, in my bird era. Watching this guy bathe wasn't exactly on par with the Severance s2 finale but it was enjoyable and does have some drama there at the end.

When we bought our house in 2018, the elderly former owner left a lot of junk. I never met him and he's since passed but peeling his wallpaper and throwing out his plastic nativity set made me feel we had a connection, even tho it was pretty annoying at the time. He left a bird bath.
