Up in Ward 4, Fort Slocum Park has been mowed one (1) time all year. Some of the green space around the Park hasn’t been touched at all. Presumably because the NPS staff responsible for upkeep and maintenance were laid off.
National Guard soldiers called into service for President Trump's law enforcement surge in D.C. have been assigned to spread mulch at federal monuments.

Normally the Park Service does that, but the administration laid off the workers.

DC should have exactly one statehood and one national guard not zero statehood and seven national guards
I have lived in DC for 10 years this week! That’s wild. So much has changed. I never thought I would get to have the career I have now, that it would take the twists and turns it has. I found love and got a dog and had a baby here. Also there are now like seven national guards here for some reason?

The amount of people that are going to sit back and wait for "someone, somewhere" to swoop in and "save" the US from itself is scary.

If you're reading this and know you would stand shoulder to should with a union sanitation employee from Philly, you need to stand up NOW for D.C. and everyone.

May things.

Rainy woods walks... The scent of soaked wood after a few days of steady rain adds to the already intoxicating smell of wet soil and green things growing. Add some May flowers and brand new growth in the overstory... a sensory delight! Don't step on the earthworms. 🪱

Too many great sci-fi shows go unnoticed. I hope 'Murderbot' won't be the next
