My new neighbor said sorry her dog tried to attack me the other day but he didn't like my mask. The other dogs around here seem OK with it and are always happy to see me.

“[Masses] are being harmed, more slowly, in more subtle ways... [Disabled people & people with Long COVID] have been harmed first and worst, but we are warning you that COVID is dangerous because our bodies are made of flesh and blood - hearts and brains- just like yours.”
Nobody has Long COVID, but everybody has brain fog, cognitive decline and memory loss. I talk about the overwhelming scientific evidence that COVID damages the brain, and the overwhelming social unwillingness to acknowledge it in my latest:

Joking memes make light of the uncomfortable reality: everyone's got a little of that post-COVID brain damage these days

Went to Kaiser Seattle to get a Covid shot. About 50 people there, only 2 others masked, no HCW masked. Some coughing. Was hit with reality, anger. We’re doomed. #zombieapocalypse

Our government has no plan but infect you repeatedly, in biannual nationwide surges, with a highly disabling virus, as research continues to show that repeated infections carry myriad long-term risks.

That "summer cold" you have? It's COVID. You've got COVID. It's a fact and it's still ripping through the world completely unrestrained.

I wear a mask - a respirator - when I'm indoors in public spaces or outdoors in crowds. I do this because COVID is a disabling, deadly disease, with no predicting who will be struck down. I'm self-employed and solo in life; I need my body and mind okay. And, I don't want to be complicit in eugenics.

In 2020, Arundhati Roy wrote a gorgeous, prescient essay called “The Pandemic is a Portal”. In this piece, I discuss who actually walked through it: the COVID conscious community, and why I’m proud to be a part of it.

The Pandemic Has Been a Portal (for a few of us)
It's true that most people keep choosing "normalcy". But the COVID conscious community is showing us a radical new way forward, that centers care

It’s bad enough that doctors and healthcare workers can’t be bothered to mask so that they don’t infect their patients. (So much for the Hippocratic Oath.) But their maskless faces & “What pandemic?” attitude bear much of the responsibility for the societal denial about the ongoing threat of COVID.
I just spent 10 min arguing with my doctor about masking. This country is so fucking washed.

The science clearly shows that surrendering to 1-2 COVID infections a year is a big mistake—especially given what we can reasonably surmise now about living in a future world where science and health are completely devalued.

Infection isn’t inevitable. #WearAnN95 and protect yourself and others.

Still masking in 2025? Absolutely.
Because unlike “good vibes,” N95s actually filter viruses. A quick 🧵 on why I haven’t retired my mask (and neither should you)

Only the virus benefits from an article like this. "In a "room of cheering residents..All were unmasked." In fact, masks are artifacts from another time, hanging from the ceiling now. #DystopianLiving

If you are tired of the pandemic, say it. But don't become a minimizer simply because you are tired. The evidence has never been stronger that COVID was and is a clear and present danger. Long COVID is ravaging society, and it will only get worse as unbridled contagion continues.

We’re expected to live unprotected, reinfected in a never ending cycle of mutations, disease and death. Most people oblige. The virus which will not be named gets all the protection. Try saying ‘Covid’ out loud sometime.

We literally managed to contain the virus in 2020 & yet by 2022 most people had resigned themselves to getting it multiple times /10

Covid depletes cells that are key to the immune system and getting covid regularly means you'll be sick more often and this will not strengthen your immune system it will progressively weaken it and you'll end up dying younger. You were lied to because you had to get back to work
