I thought the large leaping spider would get me the best screams from trick or treaters, (and tbf it was highly effective) but it was actually the cheapo battery powered cockroaches I had running around my driveway that really did it. Solid #Halloween crowd tonight.

I live 100ft away from a retired House rep in his 80s who I see at least monthly at our neighborhood social; he has said to me almost verbatim what Duncan said here. Older members are terrified of walking away from the 20-person 24/7 support network you can't even get in a high end nursing home.
I keep saying this but the reason members of congress want to stay in office until they die is they can't buy that kind of elder care anywhere else, even if they are rich
