🧵Here's a few of my unproduced scripts if anyone is looking or interested. The finished ones are all at least third drafts.
Titles, genres, loglines, etc.
If I'm feeling saucy, I might add some of my WIP scripts, but I'll mark those for clarity.
Like, if I had the money to start a full on media company, I'd do nothing but make movies and games from people who were so far ahead of their time that they were unappreciated because they were 20-30 years ahead of their time and were restricted by the technology of their era.
Yes! This is EXACTLY why I like Overhated. Because people just don't know how to enjoy fun movies, even if they're not what you expect.
check out Overhated, everyone!

The one thing I'll say that's good out of all this nonsense is how the film community has really grown out of enjoying this kind of inter-personality sniping to become a body of positively, that just loves movies and the people who make them. The pushback against negativity is so refreshing in 2025.

Agreed. That's why if I review something, I try to stick to a simple "I liked (or disliked) this particular piece of media, and here's why I liked (or disliked) it." I just think it's kinda shitty for critics to give art of any kind a grade, because people take it to heart.
And now I keep my negative film opinions to myself. You guys don’t need to see me kick other filmmakers in the nuts. And I have been all the happier for it. The best thing to do with a bad movie is learn from it and otherwise never think of it again.

Not a big fan of McDonald's fries, but those Grinch shake shake fries are pretty good.

I know the Netflix acquisition of WB is pretty bad for the industry in general, but blocking the merger will guarantee it ends up in Paramount's hands, which is exponentially worse. The whole media consolidation thing is part of why I haven't had real work in six years.

I don't really do elevated anything because I'm a bit of a lowbrow savage, but sharing this anyway for visibility.
W8S Entertainment is accepting submissions for an elevated horror feature script on behalf of an established actor with decades of industry experience who is transitioning to directing.

Email Kelly.Asher@w8sentertainment.com with the subject: Horror Script & I'll send you a sub form! (1/2)

Maaaaaan, I just got a GREAT idea for a kaiju type movie, but I'm so disenchanted with the whole screenwriting thing that I don't know if I want to bother writing it.
It would be an expensive film, but I don't think I could even get eyes on it.

The irony in Paramount whining about antitrust issues with Netflix buying WB is rich, considering they already own Showtime and TMC. Paramount buying WB would consolidate ALL of the old premium cable channels under a single company as WB owns HBO and Cinemax.

TIL that my own purchase history across 2019 and 2020 would be enough for the Bondi DOJ to indict me, save for the fact that I can prove that I haven't been near DC since my one visit in 2017.
Like literally the same purchases.

Is he really so stupid as to go on national television and mispronounce Fang-Fang?
It's not pronounced "fayng", it's pronounced "fahng".
Kash Patel: "If Eric Swalwell wants to come online and talk about what jacket size I wear, I'm hearing to send him a women's medium so him and Fang Fang can go out again."

He wants to be speaker when Dems retake the House, and enough Democrats hate him enough that he can't guarantee the spot unless he gets some Republican votes too.
Joke's on him, though. Republicans are going to vote against any Democrat nom regardless.
Jeffries: "The border is secure. That's a good thing. It happened on his watch. He wants to claim credit for it, of course he'll get credit for that. In terms of making sure that we actually deal with the issues that matter, including on immigration, there's a lot that's left to be desired."

Woke up because I was hot and my back hurt and ended up watching some Rossellini (The Machine to Kill Bad People). Going back to sleep now, but I was just curious how many of y'all also prefer Italian Neorealism to French New Wave?

Ugh. Watching cartoons on Tubi with my daughter and there's so many slop-filled AI generated ads.

And thanksgiving is finally over. It was annoying, but the food went over pretty well.

On the plus side, we were gifted a pair of bottles of Botran 18, which is surprisingly good. I prefer Flor de Caña, but it's definitely not bad at all.

Funny how canned cranberry sauce has gone up in price, but a bag of cranberries is the same price that I usually get it for.
Recipe:
One bag of cranberries
One cup sugar
3/4 cup water
1/4 cup orange juice
3 Tbsp Southern Comfort
Heat until cranberries start popping, then use spatula to mash.

My tomato man mask as requested by my daughter is coming along nicely. I only have a little bit of time here and there to work on the sculpt, but I think it's going to be my best to date.
Though while I have plenty of mats to do the mold, it's going to be a long time until I can afford to cast it.

Another year and another Thanksgiving that Alice's Restaurant isn't available to stream anywhere.

Fuck James Comey, but good for him.

Speaking of cooking, I used to be a really poor cook. I got much better after I first began cohabitating with my now wife. But I've always had one weakness: I've never been able to make a correct omelette.

Today, I did it.

And it was fucking delicious.

Are you planning on deep frying your turkey this year?
My first piece of advice is don't. Most people don't do it correctly, even if they manage to avoid burning their house down.
But if you must, don't just fry a whole turkey. Cut off the wings, legs, and thighs, and do it in pieces.

I'm glad that the whole Roblox being a hive of child predation is finally getting mainstream attention, but I was fully prepared to ban it years ago. Luckily the only games my kid is interested in is Little Kitty Big City, Placid Plastic Duck Sim, and Gabby's Dollhouse.

This IS a good article, and HBO finally ALMOST gets the point. They're at least more aware than like Prime and Peacock.
Thing is, they compare Netflix to basic cable and say they want to be the premium "channel" one would add to their basic cable subscription. That's the wrong take...

Oh god damnit. I just found out that there's an animated Golden Axe series coming out soon.

I've got a script for a live action film adaptation that I really like that I might as well throw away now.

It's faithful, but also inspired by 80s sword and sorcery films. Except, y'know, good.

And 371 members of the US House of Representatives couldn't even begin to tell you what socialism actually is.
The House of Representatives voted 285–98 in favor of a resolution condemning socialism.

86 Dems joined Republicans in supporting the measure, incl. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

I'm about 3/4 of the way through. I've been pacing myself, kinda savoring it instead of devouring it. I skipped the TOC on purpose, to kind of stay surprised, and go in as blind as possible.
The LAST thing I was expecting was to see Wayne Brady's name on a story.
I've spent today reading End of the World as We Know It. Great book so far. Just finished @crobertcargill.bsky.social's story.

So between reading and spending time with my kid, I kinda disconnected from the news and social media today.

Not sure if that was a good idea or a bad one, cuz damn.
