today has been a functional existence proof of this statement
I swear Trump could start a war unilaterally and Bluesky would be more angry about what Hakeem Jefferies and Chuck Schumer have to say about it than the actual war itself.

Independent voters are vibes based and have all sorts of contradictions of views.

Even partisans can be this way.

I doubt they care if meduro was kidnapped, for positive or negative.

Trump and the GOP need it to be positive btw.

Trump will probably see a boost from Venezuelan Americans because of this.

But beyond that doubtful. The fact that massie and a few other republicans are questioning the action, probably points towards it being unpopular

Good news everybody: the accounts that bend over backwards to make everything about how much they hate Democrats are busy at work to let everyone know that the real villains in all this are the Democrats again
Lol people need to fucking relax

To summarize:

1.) Kidnap Maduro
2.) Declare we're occupying the country and taking the oil.
3.) ??????? Where are the troops? The oil is too expensive??
4.) ??????
5.) GREAT FASCIST VICTORY FOR GENERALIISSAMO TRUMP

This story is on my Apple News. Not exactly what Trump would need to be communicating if he wanted to get a rally around the flag effect
January 3, 2026 at 5:55 PM
To be honest this probably is the nail in any bizarre ass theory that this will help Trump.

The best chance was to make it about arresting Meduro and drugs. But basically saying “yeh it’s a speed run of Iraq” is gonna be rough with the normies
Q: Who will run Venezuela?

TRUMP: Well it's largely going to be for a period of time the people standing right behind me. We're gonna be running it.

And this is why it doesn’t matter that Maduro is a bad actor.

I think we’ll just need to accept that Trump is gonna get lots of love from the media. They love GOP escapades.

What is unknown is how it affects the larger political world. I am old enough to remember when Charlie Kirk’s death was going to usher in defeat for the Dems in 2025
Thinking about Brian Williams getting a chub on air watching Trump do airstrikes in Syria back in 2017 and reminding myself that none of us have enough contempt for news media
Nicolas Maduro's heavy-handed rule in Venezuela is finally ended by Trump reut.rs/3YWbo3K

The media falling all over itself to praise Trump and call him savvy is not super surprising. This would not be the case for a Dem president.

Secondly maybe this improves trumps approval. But idk. I think the media is really wants Trump to be popular to justify their bowing down.

FOLKS NEED TO REALIZE HOW HUGE THIS IS

For the first time in modern Texas history, Dems have candidates running in every state and federal race on the 2026 ballot.

That includes all congressional seats, every state House and state Senate race, plus statewide judicial and State Board of Education.

I don’t like using the r word because most people with mental disabilities come by it due to no fault of their own.

Republicans and Trump voters on the other hand…they chose that mentally disabled life…

The folks who voted for Trump because of the economy are a double edged sword voter wise.

On one hand they don’t care trump is making the US worse in the big international picture

On the other hand they don’t see prices decreasing and are flipping to Dem or tuning out.
January 2, 2026 at 2:25 PM
In VA we saw the GOP run a terrible candidate who was super far right.

In NJ we saw the GOP run a far right candidate who pretended to be moderate

Both candidates got wiped off the map.

You can’t sit there and tell me MN is gonna be a tossup due to some fake scandal
January 2, 2026 at 2:19 PM
The problem the GOP has for MN is that you need to win over some Dem voters to win in the state but all the GOP candidates are basically running as far right as possible.

A lot of GOP saw Trump win and just assume they can run terrible candidates and win. Not the case

I can’t adequately express how much I hate the modern MSM. I want it all to burn down.
January 2, 2026 at 2:09 AM
The whole idea that Dems are the higher propensity voters now isn’t really true. A lot of Dem voters won’t come out unless there is an Obama level candidate on the correct day in the correct year.

What is new is that republicans r starting to be the same way.
January 1, 2026 at 2:27 PM
This is what an actual Patriot looks like, not whatever bs the GOP says it is
Jack Smith: [Trump] was even free to say, falsely, that he won the election. But what he was not free to do was violate federal law and use knowingly false statements about election fraud to target a lawful government function. That he was not allowed to do.
December 31, 2025 at 10:25 PM
At the end of the day the MSM hates normie dems. I don’t think there is any mainstream news publication that treats normie dems voters like real people with coherent views. But They go out of their way to tell Trump voters how special they are
It's remarkable how consistently older media folks seem to think "wildly differing moral standards" shouldn't be a barrier to relationships.

Or really, shouldn't be a barrier for liberals. Because these are always a scolding of young liberal women.

Everyone has a list of so-called "red flags" when they're dating. And for some, especially younger Americans, different political views is a relationship deal breaker.
December 31, 2025 at 9:45 PM
Imma block this person because they are a doomer and I don’t put up with that but the idea that MN is a swing state in 2026 especially at the govenors level is a level of dooming you have to will yourself to accomplish. No shred of evidence points to MN being competitive.
December 31, 2025 at 3:54 PM
The crazy thing is even if MN folks hated the Somali immigrants the state is still gonna vote Dem.

It’s not a tossup on the state level anymore.

Maybe it isn’t blue blue but it isn’t purple like this
December 31, 2025 at 3:36 PM
Older dems aren’t bad because they are older but because they have the mentality of someone who was elected in the 90’s/2000’s.

They believe that Americans largely aligned on what is good and will do the right thing

They don’t really see how msm and partisanship have made America a stupid
December 31, 2025 at 2:42 PM
Unfortunately a majority of the reason elites in this country are bowing down to Trump is they don’t believe their will be any consequences at least politically.

Dems need to at least try and put the hammer down on some of these folks if they want to avoid a Trump 2.0 next time the GOP is in power
