The Bothell City Council just voted 5-1 to drop all minimum off-street parking requirements at the same time that they approved the legalization of neighborhood cafes and corner stores everywhere in the city.

Just following Trump's tariff logic here... I have a huge trade deficit with Jeff Bezos. I've bought all kinds of things from him (used to), and he's never bought anything from me! 100% trade deficit! Maybe we should put some kinda tariff on Jeff... We could start at 50% to be generous.

With Elon in charge, SSA clawed back $5,201 from an 82-year-old constituent of mine, Ned, who was falsely labeled as dead.
Ned struggled to correct this mistake because Elon is firing SSA staff and shuttering offices.
This is real waste, fraud, and abuse—thanks to Republicans.

Proud of my city for stepping up to be the welcoming and inclusive place we say we are! We've got a lot of work to do to tackle the climate and housing crises, and eliminating parking mandates is a fundamental piece of that puzzle.
It's actually kind of jarring watching Shoreline council meetings these days. Commenters speaking in favor of eliminating parking minimums and thanking councilmembers for promoting policies geared at welcoming new residents.

Amazing what gets priority when government officials actually use the services their government provides. We need more of this!
In the review of Metro’s 2024 service report, I asked how we can better track “ghost buses,” aka unplanned trip cancellations, that were a scourge during the pandemic. This is personal for me - and for many riders - who know how frustrating & confusing it can be when a scheduled bus doesn’t show up.

Love this framing of the "neighborhood character" complaint. I love my neighborhood! More people should be able to live here, and they shouldn't have to be millionaires to afford it. And existing residents shouldn't be priced out. The people give the neighborhood its character!
