I was told they had pitched a “Big Pete goes to college” show to MTV, but MTV passed. Never saw any pitch materials so I don’t know how developed it was. Not sure if the haircut helped or hurt!
the tank girl haircut was something I actually had wondered about at the time! I recall thinking it looked really cool and (at age 9) was like “wow, I guess Pete and Pete is going to go in some really fun new directions” not knowing it had *just* been cancelled

Nickelodeon had canceled the show and we had shot our last episode of P&P just a few weeks before. Shooting the final episode “Saturday” was hectic as each character basically had their own plot and didn’t converge much until the end. So we had 2 units with 2 cameras shooting different locations….
