While I am certainly glad to see the ‘pause’ in tariffs, the fact that it was only a delay still creates uncertainty. On another note, it is sad that tariffs got so much attention compared to the US government picking up people and sending them to a gulag without due process. Humans should be > $$

I think it is time for a generational and stylistic change in Dems leadership including in the Senate. Schumer has been a solid leader for his time. But times have changed. I would love to see Chris Murphy as leader. Thoughts?

I think it is time for new leadership in the Dem party. BAU no longer applies. It’s no longer effective. I would strongly support a change in senate leadership to match the House with HJ. I think we need Chris Murphy as the new Dem Senate leader. And an outsider as our next Prez candidate.

Who said that Trump couldn’t unite people across party lines? As an American sitting in Toronto, I can tell you with certainty that he has united Canadians like never before. And he is uniting Europeans - including with Britain. Unfortunately, the unifying force is distrust of America and DJT. Sad!

One of the things I learned early in life is that you “punish in private and praise in public”. What Trump did today was not in anyone’s best interest. He tried to humiliate an elected world leader in front of the cameras to please his base and to look tough. He embarrassed himself and America! 😱

It is amazing to see European leaders coming to bend the knee and kiss the ass (thru a diaper). So embarrassing. All this will do is pause the worst outcomes and also demand more humiliation over important global issues. And Trump will always reserve the right to “pivot” to a worse result for all.

I am an American who spent most of my adult life outside of the US. I have seen my country through the eyes of others. The love and appreciation for our education system, entertainment, etc. But also the intolerance and the social and economic Darwinism. The winner take all culture is exhausting.

The last 72 hours has destroyed the world order that kept peace for the past 75 years. The actions of this regime have empowered our (former?) enemies and terrified our allies. This is not a game and the genie cannot be put back in the bottle. It will have long term horrible results for us all. 😵

I wish the media would stop referring to the admin’s actions as “plans” (e.g. Gaza, USAID). A plan has a “how” and a strategic plan also has a “why”. Trump only has a “what” which is only an idea and not a plan. And most of his “what’s” need to be followed by a TF!🫣

I think that all legitimate journalists should leave TwitterX immediately. Not because it’s a cesspool but because it is owned by a destructive member of this administration. I have to believe that even the best journalist might temper their remarks on that platform so as not to be kicked off.
