Stop your child from getting groomed into the war machine:
from someone who was in school for the beginning of the "war on terror," please. please please please. talk to teenagers in your life about not joining the us military. about not letting themselves be groomed by recruiters in schools. they're going to want soldiers, and they always start young.

And here's an article highlighting life for Venezuelan refugees under the Trump regime:

‘Venezuela is not Tren de Aragua’: A snapshot of a community targeted by the Trump administration
Official data places the total number of Venezuelans in the United States at 2% of its Latino residents, and shows that only 0.08% are linked to their home country’s most notorious criminal group

There are 770,000 Venezuelan refugees in the US. Let's be sure to protect them too.

Here's a list of refugee resettlement orgs by state that you can volunteer with or donate to:

Help locals you know plan their personal safety and prepare survival resources:
If you've got friends or family in Venezuela, tell them to store away as much drinking water as they can. Food is important too, but a lack of water kills a lot faster. Do not use this water until it's necessary

Also avoid sharing war / trauma porn. Civilians in crisis are not a spectacle to use as content.

We all know there's a war on, let trusted ethical news outlets with professional staff share appropriate footage.

Double check your sources and call out misinformation! The best sources are:

- DMs from trusted local contacts
- on the ground posts from people proven to be in Venezuela
- local media
- international press with on the ground reporting
Reminder that misinformation and disinformation are going to be worse than normal and to check sources, and be cautious with what you're sharing.

We will be posting more about how to navigate sanctions over the next week as we do a deep dive into the research.

In the meantime we recommend checking the Office of Foreign Assets Control sanctions search tool: sanctionssearch.ofac.treas.gov
I need $5,000 ASAP to:

- research sanctions on Venezuela, Columbia, and Brazil
- lawyer up
- hire a Spanish speaking logistics coordinator
- develop local contacts
- start planning an aid shipment

Can you make it happen, Bluesky?

American history is just 'you let a motherfucker shenan once and sure enough they'll shenan again' ad infinitum

Actions need to have consequences
Once again, one of the primary reasons we have arrived at this point (completely out-of-control & unconstitutional abuse of executive power to conduct wildly illegal foreign policy) is that no one, including the most senior people involved, went to jail for the rest of their lives for Iran-Contra.

Can't help but feel like this is one of the reasons why the Constitution says If a dude in office does an insurrection, don't let that motherfucker hold office again

Bc clearly they cannot be trusted with power & control over the levers of government, & they do not care about democratic constraints
January 3, 2026 at 2:31 PM
Get outside now! You don't need a sign, you don't need a slogan, just start marching and repeating Trump is doing illegal military action. Don't stop saying it till you're sure everyone in your neighborhood knows their democracy is undermined
Just woke up even angrier. Impeach, convict, remove. Draft articles now. Either we have a representative government or we don’t. Do not shut up about this until there’s a vote.
