I am finishing reading a book today for the first time in like two months. Maybe this is a sign my brain will be functional again soon.

You don’t realize how uncoordinated your off-hand is until you injure your dominant one. I’m a musician, I should have way more manual dexterity than this!

Ten stitches, and I passed out at the urgent care while they were cleaning the cut.
But it looks like I didn’t do any permanent damage, so all is well.
I cut my finger at work today bad enough to need stitches! How exciting!

I don't think enough people read my story in Weird Lit Mag about a guy who gets a job peeing on servers in a data center to keep them from overheating. I think it's some of the sharpest satire I've written, and I'd love for you to check it out! www.weirdlitmag.com/fiction/a-wa...

The Lottery is here to stay, and people who call me a murderer for stoning children to death to ensure a bountiful harvest stand in the way of progress.

Just a reminder, y’all:
If you love a book, especially an indie-published one, tell the world! They can always use the help. And the authors (and publishers) love hearing it🖤☠️

Look, I know there are a lot more consequential things going on in the world right now, but Charmin’s 12=48 mega rolls got smaller sometime this year without changing the equation. You can’t just make up new math.

“AI is already here” is such a stupid argument. It doesn’t have to be here. It can go away. And it will if enough people reject it. Especially people with influence in the industry. For example, people like the folks at Publishers Weekly.
AI isn’t coming to publishing—it’s already here. PW’s new AI for Publishing Bootcamp gives teams the tools and workflows to keep up.

First session is Feb 11. Early Bird pricing is now open.

When you miss a giant, bold "We are currently closed to submissions" on a guidelines page and submit something anyway, you're probably too tired to be doing this right now.

It's time for slower art. The constant churn and grind pushed by techno capitalism has reached its inevitable conclusion with AI slop. Let's make our best work and be patient with our process. Let's release art that's worth stopping for and savoring. Let's show each other what humans can do

one of the downsides of working as a baker is after a long day of baking delicious things, my wife says "now you must make those same delicious things again, but this time for me"

"AI will make it so we don't have to work anymore!"
yeah man, tech companies famously use their profits exclusively to benefit society, don't hoard wealth ever, and only make decisions in the interest of the general public. now i'm thirsty, brb, gonna go chug some snake oil.
