Never in my decade of filing FOIA requests have I gotten a response like this. Customs and Border Protection denies my request, saying "Due to law enforcement sensitivities we can neither confirm nor deny the existence of records." No exemption cited, no name of who wrote this.

I’m staggered by Skadden Arps anticipatory compliance with Trump.

I graduated from law school in 1976 and I’ve never seen such a pathetic, disgusting display by attorneys in my life.

Anyone upset about minimum wage workers in 21 states getting a much-needed pay raise as of January 1 should consider this: if the minimum wage had kept pace with worker productivity gains since the 1960s, it would now exceed $20 per hour.

In case we’ve forgotten what a political leader who is genuinely trying to live out his religious ideals sounds like. . .or that we could have them.
Some thoughts on Jimmy Carter and the law. He struggled with civil rights in his early political career— often straddling private sympathy and public moderation. His campaign was not free of racial into. But once governor, Carter made this call to end discrimination with a line that shocked Georgia.
