2025 marks the first time in nearly four decades that our nation will not officially acknowledge World AIDS Day and all it represents.

As the Trump administration continues to distort the truth and silence journalists, I urge you not to look away. We must bear witness, and refuse to forget.
The Magic Eraser
May I just say that any distinction between President Trump’s personal whining and official government policy was erased this past weekend with the launch of “an official government webpage dedicated ...

This World AIDS Day, we mourn the hundreds of thousands of Americans lost to HIV/AIDS and stand with those living with the diagnosis today.

While the Trump Administration refuses to mark this day, California will never abandon our neighbors, friends, and loved ones affected.

Today is World AIDS Day, a day that reminds me of the decades-long fight for dignity, science, and compassion. We’ve come so far because activists, researchers, and communities refused to be ignored.

❤️ The Broadway community is extraordinary for so many reasons, but the Broadway Cares Red Bucket tradition is such a special moment of unity.

If you attend a show this season, keep an eye out for the wonderful volunteers with the Red Buckets – and say hello for me!

Hundreds of thousands of people have lost their lives due to the Trump admin’s cuts to USAID. I refuse to give consent to this cruelty.

This interview with @agawande.bsky.social captures the horrifying toll of these cuts and emphasizes our responsibility to bear witness and demand accountability.
May I just say this is "the cruelest, most senseless thing Trump has done."
Last week I read an interview of Atul Gawande by Jonathan Cohn in the Bulwark Newsletter .

Thank you ‪@msignorile.bsky.social‬ for having me on to talk about “Uneasy Silence,” and how we’ve watched — from the early days of the HIV/AIDS epidemic to now — how politics can determine who receives care, and who is left behind.

We must continue speaking truth and standing together.

I’m honored to have @pelosi.house.gov's generous words grace the cover of “Uneasy Silence,” a book born of hope, art, & the belief we can all make a difference.

Madam Speaker’s decades of public service & tireless commitment to equality have inspired me & so many others to keep using our voices.

Deeply grateful to the Congregational Church of the Peninsula for hearing my sermon this past weekend. The story of Hagar and El Roi reminds us to see those who feel unseen. THIS congregation truly lives that message.

Obama: I believe in an America where we don't fear each other. But look out for each other. And if we want that story to continue. If we believe in that better story. We need leaders who believe in it too.

Thank you @bayareareporter.bsky.social for this thoughtful piece & for highlighting my upcoming sermon at the Congregational Church of the Peninsula, with book signing to follow.

I speak because many cannot. Stigma lingers, government inaction costs lives. But still we find strength in compassion.

Art matters! Joy matters!
Me to me: THE WORLD IS ON FIRE AND YOU ARE SPENDING YOUR TIME WRITING A PICTURE BOOK?

Also me to me: Yes. Because books matter. Education matters. Joy matters. Children matter. Now SHUSH, guilt-and-panic-ridden-brain. At least I'm making something as things get destroyed.
It's got a ways to go yet, but I'm liking the changes I'm making to this new PB manuscript. <3

Trump has decimated funding for Medicaid, SNAP, and crucial agencies like FEMA and the CFPB.

Now, he's demanding his cronies at DOJ give him a ludicrous $230M in taxpayer funds as "compensation" for past investigations.

He's picking your pockets to line his own.

Bulldozing the White House ✅
Reopening the government ❌

When I saw Just in Time on Broadway, I never expected to share such a beautiful moment with Jonathan Groff after the show!

I was already blown away by his extraordinary performance, but what moved me the most was experiencing the love he has for his community.
