Okay, so Kubrick's Shining is playing at the local museum's Imax. Its mostly sold out, but I got tickets in the second row. I feel like I'm going to be staring at a piece of Jack Nicholson or Shelly Duvall all night, but it'll be worth it.

Am I the only one that watched Predator Badlands and came out wanting a Weiland Yutani rain poncho? I mean, those look like they will keep you very dry.

Haven’t been interested in zombies for some time, but this sparked some interest.

Writing poetry because my writing class demands it.
I feel like I'm a blunt hammer of a poet.
I could use a little time in the word-smithery.

Two of the graphic novel jobs I turned down from traditionally prose publishers have been due a combination of deadline delusions like this and the woefully inadequate compensation for the work.
I've had to explain that no, I cannot pencil and ink a 260-page GN in two months, do you even understand the words you're saying to me? I've been asked to design characters, pencil, ink, and color a 200-page GN myself in eight months (I said no).

I mean, my little reading is a lot of fun this semester.

Studying poetry and its very ambiguous--like it doesn't want you to understand what it's saying--just soak in this vibe.

I guess the American government doesn’t want free access to educational content anymore.

Coyote cattle is a new phrase for me. Take care of your fur babies.
Research shows coyotes in some areas look both ways before crossing roads and show traffic awareness. Between that and owner willingness to sacrifice their cats by leaving them outside (coyote cattle) so coyotes have free meals for their children, no wonder they do so well in sub/urban locales.

I saw this in Imax and my brain is still recovering from that.

Sold. I love bleak and weird.
NEGATIVE SPACE was a comic miniseries at Dark Horse with Owen Gieni in Art. This remains one of my biggest critical hits - it won two Australian awards, the Aurealis Award and a Bronze Ledger award.

It’s about a writer penning their suicide note and getting writer’s block. Then it gets weirder.

My first English course in my return to University.

There is a ton of discourse around plagiarism, ChatGPT, etc.

Honestly, if you're not doing the work, why bother with the education?

My brain trying to move forward from books in my past and having a hard time.

Do I let them languor, or self-publish? Or keep querying small publishers, agents, etc?

You know, I wish I could take my writing playlist out of the analytics that Apple Music gives me, because there are current songs I would listen to more in their aggregated playlists if that were so. As it is, my flow state music ain't really what I want to hear when I'm listening for fun.
