The strategy being run right now over decades seems to be destroy federal tax revenues by repeatedly dropping the marginal tax rates, then use the fact that debt is getting out of control to destroy state capacity, then destroy the social safety net.

I can say with some confidence that the brain-drain going on at NASA right now is extreme, at least if my narrow window/set of touch points is representative. Truly excellent, experienced people are climbing off the ship.

Rule of law is only preserved if institutions are willing to stand up for it. But lawyers involved have been trained to keep institutions out of conflict (eg: law firms folding).

Perversely this means that (some) lawyers are complicit in, & actively enabling, the collapse in the rule of law.

NASA HQ at CAPS: Regarding reported cuts, they do *not* know what grants have been cut, and can’t validate claims of cost savings. They can verify they’ve had to remove building-managed potted plants from inside HQ.
