60 years ago today I was at 50A - York Steam depot by a V2. 43 years later I was firing Sir Lamiel at York and then other locos as well. !

It seems the right wing press is getting a bit nervous now more and more evidence is coming out about how Brexit has wrecked our economy and the polls are showing fewer and fewer people support it. @railway200.bsky.social team buried an engraved wooden box time capsule at Derby Roundhouse yesterday. Fabulous to be there to see it all. The final pic is the time capsule under glass in the turntable pit with the roof ironwork reflected.

I was honoured to work with one of my best friends on his last day at Eurostar today, we gave him a traditional welcome into St Pancras on his last train.
Thank you to all the passengers of train 9031 today who took the time to wish him well, he was touched!

Two steam stalwarts of West Coast Railway Company have been lost this month, John Daniel, joined BR in 1954 & Tommy Farr, also joined in the mid 1950s. I had the great fortune of firing to both of them in their WCR days. John on 6201 and by 44932/Tommy on 6233. @railway200.bsky.social
