It is disgraceful that instead of promoting international law, Australia’s top law officer is trying to repair relations with a foreign government found by major human rights organisations to be committing genocide.

In Australia its a cheaper to cause an oil spill than to get a nursing degree

In Norway they tax their oil industry and give kids free degrees while in Australia we subsidise the oil industry and charge kids a fortune to go to uni

Priorities matter
Accused by a whistleblower of covering up an oil spill that killed dolphins and sea snakes, Santos get fined just $10k 🤯

Santos spends up to $US3.3m per year on a private jet for their executives so I don’t think AUD10k is going to hurt them.

Gas giant Santos fined $10,000 for 25,000-litre oil spill off Pilbara coast
The energy giant has pleaded guilty to causing an oil spill in 2022, that leaked 25,000 litres of oil off WA's north-west coast. Santos will pay a $10,000 fine and $9,700 in court costs for failing to...

Quiet down, Year 8

BlueSky Pro Tip (that I only just learned)

Likes do NOT boost posts. There's no vanity algorithm.

Like stuff, of course. But...

The ONLY way more people see more content is if you Share/Repost it

If you didn't know that either, then you know what to with this post 🫶🐒

I now have 74.7K followers on BlueSky, surpassing my 74.6K followers on X.

I struggled with making the transfer, but felt it was worth it. I was hoping maybe in a year I could build my following back up.

It took less than a week.

Thank you!

Maggot has pulled down his putrid post, well too fucking late, he wrote what his vile mind thought & a Senate censure isn’t going to change a thing. He can fuck off out of the parliament, the brainless prick.

I so relate to this. Procaffeinate, procrastinate, cause and effect
Word of this morning is ‘procaffeinate’: to put everything on hold until you’ve had sufficient amounts of coffee.

Never forget that when Seoul, Korea removed the Cheonggyecheon expressway in 2003 and replaced it with a restored stream, 1000 acre park and improved public transit, not only did it transform the city’s public life and economic success, but the car traffic got better.

The traffic got BETTER.

Some years ago, I weaned myself off Coke and started using #SodaStream. I found out recently that #SodaStream is made in Israel. I’ve been trying to find an alternative but haven’t been successful. Any advice or suggestions is gladly welcomed.

A question for Bishop Bird, of Ballarat, who instructed his lawyers to go all the way to High Court to avoid paying damages to a complainant of child sexual abuse on basis that priests aren’t technically employed by his diocese:
Did your priests accept JobKeeper during COVID pandemic?
If so, why?

The head of the NACC, retired judge Paul Brereton, is incapable of leading a public service organisation of over 260 people with a very forward facing and very public role

He appears either unwilling or unable to accept that he does not have the skill set required for such a vast undertaking

#NACC
I wish I was making this up, but the boss of the National Anti-Corruption Commission has given a speech where he admits that he acted with "apprehended bias" during the Robodebt non-investigation. As Bernard Keane and many others argue, Brereton has to resign www.crikey.com.au/2024/11/18/p...
Discredited Brereton should stop whingeing and resign from the NACC
The National Anti-Corruption Commission head devoted a major speech to explaining why he shouldn't resign. It perfectly demonstrated why he should.
