Most of the time, shooting landscapes is pretty solitary work. I don't mind that. Every now and then I get approached by people interested in what I'm doing and it's normally a pretty awesome interaction - more so when they bring a dog.

The views from the ferry to Orcas Island were incredible, though being a passenger felt like riding an empty floating bus.

Not a complaint—just an observation: cheap plastic, harsh lighting, utilitarian seating. That contrast inspired this series.

If I wasn't hiking on Orcas Island I was driving around looking for interesting spots. I just liked how that arch (?) framed the trees jutting into the ocean, then a boat started hauling ass through the frame.

Anyway, I froze my nuts off for these shots from Orcas, please clap.
