Hello new followers. Just in case there's any confusion... I'm not the TV reporter of the same name. I look after the tech and operational things that keep a number of TV channels on air.

Barely more than a week ago The Times published an interview with the wrong Bill De Blasio slagging off Mamdani. It is about a serious error as one can get. The editor of The Times has not resigned and there isn't a campaign for him to do so.

Since we’re in the mood for strict accuracy in broadcast news, worth noting that a rival channel had a pundit - unchallenged - say asylum seekers in hotels committed 44% of sexual offences in one county, seemingly because she cannot understand basic maths.
A national newspaper journalist went on a British TV channel to claim police stats showed asylum-seekers committed 44% of sex crimes in Dorset.

This shocking claim was treated as fact by the channel which promoted the clip on social media where it was amplified by AI.

Except... it's bollocks.

Not sure where That's TV found this copy of Man About The House (complete with visible timecode) but it looks as well preserved as something that came out of a Blue Peter time capsule.

Just thinking that we could easily be living in a world where electricity too cheap to even bother metering buy successive political decisions have been to ensure that is not the case.
Australia has so much electricity from solar power that it is going to start offering free electricity to everyone for at least three hours during the day as the wholesale price of power goes negative

Australia has so much solar that it's offering everyone free electricity
Australia's extensive solar power penetration makes so much energy that the government wants to offer free electricity at peak hours.

For context there was a trans contestant on Monday's episode of Only Connect. That's it. That's what's triggered Graham. Seeing a trans person.

Instead of changing the channel or even a modicum of introspection as to why he feels that way, he instead chooses to pick a fight.

Alison Limerick's 'Where Love Lives' is one of the top tunes of all time IMO. Applying the now standard John Lewis Christmas ad misery filter to it... <insert your own sound effect here>

The role of a customer service department these days is clearly to prevent any customer from actually receiving any service by making the process of contacting any given company as difficult as possible.

Any 'chat bot' is simply a pretence that customer service is provided.

In Chicago, a woman was driving to get coffee when a DHS vehicle fleeing an angry crowd crashed into her car. Armed agents jumped out of the vehicle, yanked her door open, pulled her by the legs out of her car at gunpoint, held her incommunicado for hours, then released her with no charges.

In a whole ad break on C4 only 1 of the commercials filled the screen. Pretend 4:3 (it's retro!) seems to be particularly 'creative' right now, but there's still a lot of crap ads in deep letterbox from people who think they're making movies.

I'd guess none of them watch television.

One of the train crew appears to have put themselves directly in harm’s way trying to stop the attack, and the driver rapidly diverted the train - meaning rescue services could reach it; passengers tried to help the injured and each other. There will always be heroes, and we’re so lucky to have them
Next time someone tells you that train drivers "just push buttons" show them this from the BBC

Earlier I listened to a podcast about Are You Being Served? and the supposed expert hosts (on British sitcoms) had never seen the programme until making the podcast.

I've just watched a YouTube video from a very popular food channel where one of the presenters did not know what a fig roll was.
