Time to glue parts together starting with the engines. I first needed to thread through the wires for the running lights. Then I soldered red and green lighting 2mm tower LEDs in place. They’re clear when unlit. I did this for maximum brightness. Clear paint blocks some light.

Sexual choking normalization is getting out of hand in mainstream entertainment. I just saw it in ”I Love LA” and last night in “Marty Supreme”. Especially weird in the latter since it’s a period piece. Interestingly there‘s no sign of it in ”Heated Rivalry”. Funny that…

I love watching old cartoons in high definition. You can see the shadow cast by the cels onto the background by the light shining down during the photo compositing. Sometimes a cel casts a shadow on another cel.

It seems the entirety of Strange New Worlds takes place in 2259. That’s 7 years before TOS S01. Lets calculate how old the TOS crew should be compared to the actors playing them:
Kirk is 26. Paul Wesley is 43
Spock is 28. Ethan Peck is 39
McCoy is 39. Thomas Jane is 56

Goldsman’s view that there’s evil in the universe isn’t bad. There are plenty of irredeemable villains in Trek: Khan (podcast aside), Chang, Kruge, Satie, Harry Mudd, Gul Madred, Damon Bok, Dr Sevrin. But none of them were a race and all of them had ideologies. The Gorn and Vezda had none. 🧵 1/
I'm STILL peeved about how Star Trek Strange New Worlds treated the Gorn.

This week #SNW tisses the season to show us what Pike and Batel‘s happily ever after would have looked like in the finalé “New Life and New Civilizations”. Then we see how the little space station show that could did destiny, prophesy, and ultimate evil right in our Babylon Squared trilogy review.

This week the Jerks are stranded on a deserted planet as we compare #SNW Terrarium to its progenitor “Enemy Mine”. And then we go back further and compare both to Jon Boorman’s “Hell in the Pacific”. But we won’t touch “None But the Brave” because 2 hours of Sinatra directing himself is not our jam.

Love how Karen Armstrong is the big fan and her husband is nothing but her ride. And he's prepared for the onslaught of nerd minutia he's going to get hit with throughout the film.

There is apparently a new Playstation game called "Starfield" and it has completely ruined image searches for star fields.

It looks like both the alien ship and it’s corridors are photos of models. The “hole” in the side of the alien ship is drawn on. I wonder if these were store bought toys or made especially for the comic. That’s a lot of production effort, especially if it’s the latter.
Boldly going where no comic strip has gone before! The “Star Trek” newspaper strip first appeared on December 2, 1979. (The strip was intended to capitalize on “Star Trek: The Motion Picture,” which premiered on December 7, 1979.) Here's the first week of dailies:
