It literally costs nothing, it fires up the voters, there is NO downside. One must conclude at this point that the Democratic Party is explicitly complicit.
Here’s some things that can be done by a party out of power
- file impeachment articles every day in the House
- withhold unanimous consent in the senate and filibuster every nominee
- be everywhere with comms saying this is lawless and impeachable

This. We absolutely have to lift up marginalized voices - and in greater number than we already do! - but there has to be room for carefully researched, thoughtful, empathetic writing about voices and experiences other than our own, too.
The one thing I will say about the success of Heated Rivalry is that maybe we can finally acknowledge that ownvoices rep is important but not the only valid voice. If an author is sensitive, writes a complex character, and does research, I think we can write different backgrounds than our own

Today I found out that my youngest kiddo discovered the Dead Kennedys all on her own and while both my kids have made me proud with the cool music they discover on their own over the years, this one just might be a new level of music dad win for me
