A black and white photograph of the hellmouth entrance of cabaret l’enfer. The novel title is Lazarus, written by Lukan Garrow The hallway opened like a throat. From the main room, hands appeared to take my coat, my hat. I let them, soothed by the cushioning darkness, given a velvet quality by the haze of smoke. From within this shroud came points of soft light; the low, controlled glow of an opium lamp. They scattered the murky room like dying stars. Amongst them, amongst the pillows and furs, lay piles of unmoving contorted flesh. Bodies on bodies. Limp, cast across one another careless. A mass grave. Their breath was soft, almost invisible, their half-closed eyes sucked into a drowning pool of dreaming. Atop a bunk lay a woman in repose, as if painted, her face turned from me, her hand hanging limp over the edge. This was a house of the dead. Its denizens never-living. All those years I had lived beneath the soil, in those cut, festering wells of misery and fear. It was here alone I could feel the soft embrace of the grave.

Had group therapy this morning and my body just up and decided it does not want to leave the bed and my chronic ilnesses are ilnessing hard.
Just when I feel like I'm doing better, my body makes sure I remember that I'm not abled bodied.

From all the things I could foresee, this reaction was utterly astonishing. “Are you or not?” he adds, eyebrows raised expectantly. “No! I’m a fucking vampire,” I let out gruffly. “Bloody hell, seriously?” “Yes, seriously. It would be a poor joke, would it not?” I remark. To further my point, I lift a strand of his hair with my power. He barely glances at it and, with an absent motion, presses it back into place.
