So many beautiful writing related things happened to me today I want to cry.

I usually feel like I'm shouting into the void just to be swallowed up into the nothing. But today showed me that maybe one or two people heard me.

My entire novel is feels like a dream.
Arc readers described the atmosphere as surreal & dreamlike which is purposeful.

I used a lot of devices to achieve this, such as the MC questioning his senses & sanity, strange weather, time being weird etc... But there are no literal dreams.

My second and last #sludgepit offering is my vampire noir DEAD ENDS #WIP #H #D I'm working hard on it, but currently my most realistic estimate is it will be out sometime in 2027. I'm very excited about this one.
A summary and then excerpt in white text on a black background with a reflective red sheen. DEAD ENDS A town without a name, populated by monsters trying to stay forgotten. A vampire without a name trying to lose its past. A young man with a talent for going unseen, looking for his missing ex-lover. A murdered nightclub singer. A missing werewolf. When a vampire without a name and an witch without a coven meet, it’s hate at first sight. But to find what they each need, they’ll have to put that aside and work together. Trouble is, they both have their respective pursuers, and in a town like this, everybody knows your scent. Excerpt: The vampire did not bother with niceties. It did not prepare the woman’s flesh with the healing secretions of its tongue, or draw a neat slit with a sharp claw from which to gently lap her blood. It bit, and it bit deep, and blood flowed into and over its lips and its tongue and slid hot down its cold, cold throat. The vampire’s blood surged. It devoured the heat of the living blood, merging with it like a desperate lover. Soon, too soon, it would all grow cold and begin to rot once again. But for now, the vampire felt warm. It would never feel alive.

A black and white photograph of the hellmouth entrance of cabaret l’enfer. The novel title is Lazarus, written by Lukan Garrow The hallway opened like a throat. From the main room, hands appeared to take my coat, my hat. I let them, soothed by the cushioning darkness, given a velvet quality by the haze of smoke. From within this shroud came points of soft light; the low, controlled glow of an opium lamp. They scattered the murky room like dying stars. Amongst them, amongst the pillows and furs, lay piles of unmoving contorted flesh. Bodies on bodies. Limp, cast across one another careless. A mass grave. Their breath was soft, almost invisible, their half-closed eyes sucked into a drowning pool of dreaming. Atop a bunk lay a woman in repose, as if painted, her face turned from me, her hand hanging limp over the edge. This was a house of the dead. Its denizens never-living. All those years I had lived beneath the soil, in those cut, festering wells of misery and fear. It was here alone I could feel the soft embrace of the grave.

Had group therapy this morning and my body just up and decided it does not want to leave the bed and my chronic ilnesses are ilnessing hard.
Just when I feel like I'm doing better, my body makes sure I remember that I'm not abled bodied.

Yet never in all my years have I encountered one whose mind did not recoil from me in terror. Even before intellect forms thought, their instinct senses what I am, knows to fear me. Let’s learn together. As we always do.” After all, when you have forever, there is no need to skip foreplay. Once Minh’s head started to drop, Santi gently cradled it and started disengaging from his neck. His fangs slid out smoothly from his flesh, not a single drop of blood smearing his white teeth or the perfect bite marks.
