What an amazing opportunity to present my new work with GlyCombo CLI! I had a wonderful time talking to everyone about the new software and all the applications.
Following, we have @maiakelly.bsky.social from Georgia Tech/Protea Glycosciences, presenting the command line version of GlyCombo.
Specifically, how it has been developed from a standalone application to a module as part of an integrated #glycotime bioinformatic workflow.

Excited to submit an abstract for my first conference since COVID. My first got to go to ASMS, now both kids get to come along to AUS-oMicS!

Want to work with mass-based glycan data? Try out GlyCombo, our published, freely available software that rapidly assigns monosaccharide combinations to glycan masses.
Here's a 5 min video showing you how to get started.

I’m on my second Lenovo laptop that has had major faults. In my meeting ten minutes ago the whole laptop died for good. It is less than a year old. I was always a die hard Lenovo user. What company should I be looking for my next laptop?

This was a ton of fun to write with @ypriverol.bsky.social and all of the other authors 👏

Our goal was to share a vision of #OSS #proteomics for us to build toward, and propose some ways to get there 🚀

I’m blown away by how many folks contributed and how much it evolved beyond just my voice 🙌

My friend texted our grad school group chat asking if we thought a request to be a reviewer was a scam because it was for a field they aren’t in (fish). A quick google search later… There is someone with the same first, middle and last name as him working in fish research. Lot of fish puns today.

Do you know outstanding undergraduate researchers who could use up to $750 in travel funding to present their work at the Spring @amerchemsociety.bsky.social Natl Meeting or Pittcon?

Please encourage them to apply for a Kolthoff award! Deadline is Jan. 13, 2025.

Introduction!

Hi, I am Maia. I am a mass spectrometrist, with my PhD focused on glycoproteomics and glycomics. I am currently going part time for another degree in Computer Science. My focus is on combining these two to create tools for glycomics and glycoproteomics analysis.

The unofficial FeMS starter pack (until they join us on Bluesky :) anyway. If you're a woman working with a mass spectrometer please ask to be added! All women are welcome!

Given the influx of people at bsky, thought I would formally introduce myself 👋
I'm Chris, an Australian glycoscientist who has studied the field for >10 years now (across both AU and US), starting (MRes and PhD) in the lab of Prof. Nicki Packer.
I believe LC-MS glyco still has a lot to discover.

One of the things I am most proud of is co-chairing the Females in MS awards committee for two years. During that time we awarded $10,000s to women and people from other underrepresented groups working in mass spectrometry. I'm glad to see the current co-chairs continuing that theme of inclusivity.

I have gotten a couple of questions about the FeMS awards. FeMS is an inclusive community and all women are encouraged to apply.

For those of you that prefer feeds over following, I've figured out how to convert starter packs into lists, so you can get your glyco fix as a feed. If you're on the starter pack, you're on the list, and anyone new on the starter pack will get added to the feed!
