I have seen the Galaxy books. I always wonder if any of the companies have come up with sturdy hinges for the folding laptops. They are so convenient.

I have thought about doing Asus next. My friend had a Zephyrus and it went strong through all of grad school.

This is similar to my previous Lenovo before these two. I had a great one that was thrown all around lab and sat on my bench next to all sorts of chemicals that lasted for years. It is crazy that my two most “babied” Lenovos have died so fast in comparison.

During my PhD, I wrote the cover letters, but my advisor took care of everything else. He showed me the entire process and gave me a few cover letters from other papers to see. My PI was very particular about what got submitted so he always did the final submission.

A fun fact is that during my PhD any identification of a spectra was almost exclusively done by hand annotation. I have had the opportunity to work on some extremely powerful instruments (15T FTICR) and a Synapt with many fun additions like a lab built ESI stage and Surface Induced Dissociation.

Hello! Thank you for pointing this out. We had previously removed all wording of “identify as” from our awards but this one got missed. We will update this to “open to women in the field of mass spectrometry.”
