I’ve decided, 9 years after I became disabled, to finally apply for PIP. I’m doing it out of principle now and so that I have firsthand experience of the process. I know people with the same condition as me where the process has taken 3 years to get an award. Here goes…

On #WorldVentil8Day we are reminding everyone:

💨 Clean indoor air saves lives! 💨

Flu risks are high this year and ventilation, filtration, high-grade masks, and CO₂ levels still matter.

Was the opening scene in S10 Ep 1 of Shetland a sly nod to “No Activity”? Two cops on stakeout at a docks discussing dating with an informant in back. Tip turns out a dud.

I’m confused. I thought #DownCemeteryRoad was set in Oxford? So far, identified at least 3 locations in Bristol, and I’m only 30mins in. Things like this take you out of a show.

After a long pause, I've just done another England Covid & NHS update as we head into the autumn/winter season.

TLDR: we're in a significant Covid wave now, the NHS is stretched, get boosted if you're eligible.

I’ve written to my MP. Please consider writing to yours to extend the covid 19 booster to all who get the flu vaccine, as per previous years.

We really need a “Post Office Scandal” moment.
ME/CFS is a devastating condition that has long been denied, dismissed, psychologised and underdiagnosed. Research is at last starting to catch up with it, with glimmers of hope for those who have been left untreated for so long.

Thanks @luckytran.com
Yesterday, history happened at the UN: For the first time hundreds of orgs signed a global pledge declaring that healthy indoor air is a human right.

Healthy indoor air is a key tool for preventing pandemics, building climate resilience, and increasing health equity. We need it everywhere!

This sounds great, but how does it deal with diagnoses of things like post concussion syndrome and ME, which many doctors still don’t accept as real and don’t have any specialists to refer to?

The truth: we need migration.

The problem: too many politicians are terrified to say it.

Why? They're led by a) toxicity of the charlatans & b) wealthy media organisations who demand these useful distractions rather than us talking about inequality.

Reject it. Draw the line.

I want to see non-disabled people shouting about the disability benefit cuts. If you spoke out about trans rights, abortion rights, or migrant rights in recent weeks? Good on you! If you aren’t doing the same for disabled people, ask yourself why.
