Tom a grey tabby with a white collar and muzzle, sniffs at a sage green blanket. He’s figured out that his younger but much bigger kitty brother Henry is under there.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

The election is done: a time for reflection. How did I live my values? What was both value-driven and strategic? What did I learn about my party, my city, the opportunities & barriers to progress? Trying to avoid blaming and finger-pointing, trying to stay curious and learning. It’s a challenge.

Older Dems —we need to get honest with ourselves, confront our racism and misogyny, recognize and support the young leaders and leaders of color.
Breaking the 12 year long GOP supermajority in Mississippi seems like a big deal. A bunch of Black women mayors seems like a big deal.

Can’t wait for the hot “How Democrats winning is bad news for Democrats” takes.

The longstanding racism and anti-immigrant sentiment amongst “Democrats” is increasingly, nakedly obvious. The mad nasty gloating of some of the Frey-cronies reveals the desire only to win, the lack of interest in the DFL platform or the well-being of Minneapolis residents.

Minneapolis friends - We did pretty well on the City Council, Park Board, BET, & COALITION BUILDING. Still lots of hope and lots of work left. Lots of us are upset. I’m mad & sad & sick. But let’s rest a few hours and then get on with supporting our neighbors who’re not getting SNAP.

I admit it. I’m clinging to Halloween. Orange pumpkin with googly spiral eyes and big mouth lit green from within. White pumpkin with carved pentacle and red light. Makes me happy and I don’t know why.

Riddle: I side with landlords over tenants, business owners over workers, veto a labor standards board (which was only advisory), lie about no-knock warrants being eliminated, & repeatedly “sweep” homeless peoples’ tents and possessions & lie about the number of homeless people in Mpls. Who am I?

Elected Democrats spending more time today praising Dick Cheney than Zohran Mamdani is a great case study in abject fucking moral failure.

Night night sweet dreamies

It’s okay to feel what you feel.
You’re not exaggerating.
You’re not too much.
You’re allowed to feel hurt,
to struggle,
to take your time.
Your feelings are valid, always

15yrs of GPS data on bison, bighorn sheep, moose, pronghorn, wolves, & cougars shows they adjust to higher temperatures more by moving than by adapting themselves. Thus it’s not enough to protect animals where they are. They need access to a variety of landscapes.

Large mammals in Yellowstone adapt to summer heat by changing behavior—shaped more by landscape than biology, a new study finds.

There’s recent campaign literature appealing to Minneapolis GOP voters to go for Frey. Makes sense because he squashed the popular rent control measure, vetoed the advisory labor standards board, and enabled unconstitutional racist policing shown in two consent decrees. He’s qualified for the GOP.

It’s actually very straightforward.
UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 5: Vito Marcantonio

There are many who dismiss our vision for New York as impossible. To them, I say we need look only to our past for proof of how we can shape the future.

Tomorrow is Election Day. And this is the final Until It's Done of our campaign.

One way I understand Democratic Socialism is from a Bernie Sanders speech a few years back, in which he said the task of is to take up and complete the unfinished work of the New Deal. Today ALL OF US must preserve the shreds of the New Deal, while organizing to restore and expand for all of us.

Jason telling the truth because he’s hearing it from us, the people.
The message from Frey that “rent is down” is not resonating with voters.

We’re talking to renters and the concerns they keep talking about is the cost of living and the high cost of rent.
Sometimes I think people forget that, in 2021 Rent Control got more votes than Jacob Frey did.

Want to get Americans off SNAP? Well, if the minimum wage had kept up with inflation and productivity, it would be $26 an hour. That would remove 13 million workers from food stamps overnight. Start there.
