I do not want to “Do my own research.” I want to pay trained accredited experts to do the research, trained accredited experts to report on findings, and trained accredited experts to make policy based on them.

I am busy af with my own job, I don’t need to do eight zillion more.

Fall has turned our many forests into a beautiful array of colors. We missed peak foliage by about a week, but it was still cool. Made me think about what my MCs in Blackout Trail faced hiking through Allegheny National Forest. lindanaughton.com/blackout_tra...

Being a high masking, lower support needs autistic person who has a full time job and is married with kids basically makes it so people think your challenges are a combination of poor planning, poor choices, and social incompetence rather than because you have a literal disability 🥴

Research shows people with ADHD spend an extra $2,000 per year in "ADHD tax" - money spent as a direct result of their condition impacting finances. 🧵 ⬇️

Saying “be more productive!” To those who are struggling devalues human life.

We are more than our perceived “shortcomings.”

More than what people find inconvenient about us.

More than what annoyed our grade school teachers.

So. Much. More.

An authoritarian gov't on Mars, dissidents rounded up by shady operatives, a state-run media suppressing a massacre. My "90's chase thriller on Mars" was inspired by movies like The Net and Enemy of the State. I miss the days when its dystopia felt quaint and far-fetched. #booksky #books

Was cleaning up my closet and found my research notes from Blackout Trail. I plotted out the characters' route mile by mile across the North Country and Appalachian Trails, noting interesting landmarks and challenges. Fun times! I actually love doing book research. My search history is so random. 😂

Whenever I see somebody online explaining the ways they know a kid is using ChatGPT to write a paper, I am sincerely glad I'm not a child anymore. Em dashes? Oxford commas? Enumerated lists? Complex contrasting sentences? I am a hyperlexic autistic and began writing like that in fourth grade.
