1. It was not an accident.
2. It was not a staffer.
3. While the president may have dementia his racism is not due to dementia.
4. He isn’t sorry. He means every racist thought he shares.
5. His base agrees with him.
6. He will do it again.
7. No one in power will hold him accountable.

It’s precisely BECAUSE we cannot know what’s in another person’s heart that we cannot use that as the standard to judge their behavior.

Intent truly only matters if it’s the difference between “I didn’t mean to offend AND AM FIXING IT NOW because I did” and “I am indifferent at best to my offense.”
I think one thing white people tie ourselves in knots over about racism is what someone “feels in their heart” or whatever. And that just … doesn’t really matter? It’s the behavior that matters.

This is stupid in that it pisses away Dems only leverage. A shutdown that affects TSA/FEMA. Only defunding ICE allows them to just draw down OBBB money and continue doing what they're doing.
Sen. Slotkin raises idea of funding everything at DHS but ICE

“I would certainly be interested in separating ICE out from the rest. It’s a version of what we did last week, we isolated DHS ... Isolate ICE”

Murkowski: "interesting" idea

Kennedy: “I don’t think Republicans will go for that"

Whatever's in the whistleblower complaint Tulsi Gabbard's trying to bury, we know she's neck deep in efforts to help Trump gain control of ballots. Homing in on stuff like that might not poll as well as healthcare—but therein lies the problem with the Dem approach. www.offmessage.net/p/the-goal-m...

Let's speak plainly.

In a legitimate criminal cases, political appointees don't have to first hollow out U.S. Attorney offices of objecting career prosecutors with integrity; federal judges don't kill the cases at the cradle, and the government doesn't fight tooth and nail to revive them.

Do you honestly think people in the civil rights movement and other nonviolent movements faced no violence themselves? They practiced nonviolence because it works, because the oppressor wants a shooting war, which is the war it will win
How's your non-violent working Mr Gandhi stancil? They will kill each and everyone of you right if they had the chance and you will still be writing Kumbaya.
Observers have been working day and night to protect these neighborhoods from ICE, make the streets safe so kids can go to school and people can go to their jobs. Burning down the street undoes all our work. The people setting fires haven’t been putting in long hours watching plates or doors.
