Living wage is calculated at 1.5EFT (60 hours, so $90,324). i.e. this is $25K less than what a family of 4 is needs to get by.

You also aren't charging your time - I imagine it takes a lot more time to do everything from scratch instead of buying from the supermarket, which should feed into the equation if someone tries to present it as a commonly viable solution.

I'd actually quite like to see a change in citizenship oath if it removed the oath of allegiance to the king/queen from it. It's a blocker for me. It's in the Te reo version as well.

Why is the call always for the workers to "negotiate in good faith", when the only reason they are striking is because the government won't negotiate in good faith and turns up with absurd proposals? I don't think it's common in the private sector for payrises to require agreed worsened conditions.

In my student days we had a BBQ fire that melted one of the burner to supply pipe seals. We took it into bbq factory store and they refused to sell us the seal as a part (apparently safety policy) so we ended up finding something close elsewhere and cutting it to shape, which I'm sure was safer...
