Today's GMC workforce report speaks of doctors "choosing" to find themselves outside of formal training.

For some this is choice, for others a necessity.

Regardless of how someone finds themself in this position, we need to make this somewhere people can have a career and achieve their potential.
If anyone is wondering what a career outside of formal training is supposed to look like in 2024, it is supposed to look like this.

These are the national contracts negotiated for doctors in this position, and this is what the national rhetoric describes.

We need to make this viable.
