been at a new job since like November, people on a monthly basis keep being like "how does the news from the all hands affect you" and I keep being like "I'm not really sure". readers, I don't go. it never does affect me, if never affects them. it's not real, the c suite don't do anything
as @edsbs.bsky.social said, if your organization has an all hands meeting, just dip. you're an employee not a hostage. i'm good, thanks, gonna go have a beverage and watch the nice guys. great flick. maybe putter around the yard and do some gardening. no thank you, is my point.

sprinkle some class analysis on top of this. it's not just about "being important". it's the general consensus position of capital, and a huge chunk of American capital is and always has been fascist in orientation, they've just been winning the intra capital struggle for 3 decades
The political press very clearly understands “truth” as a social agreement, a compromise position between everyone important enough to have an opinion. It did not reflect on how this would allow dedicated liars to go all-in on lies again and again and dramatically shift the position.
my emerging theory is that the political press literally does not believe in objective reality in any meaningful sense. there is only what A says and what B says and how that affects the horse race

statistically speaking (and based off the articles) it is a near certainty that thousands of people currently patrolling the streets in Minnesota are people who did not immediately believe the warnings of the left 10 years ago. I see very little criticism of *them* on here
Bluesky idea: if people who didn't agree with you change their opinions so that they do agree with you, why not be happy that you are making progress - rather than complaining that they are "only just catching up"?

it's so funny that they hate the left more than they are for anything, burnham isn't even the left he's just not a deranged member of their cult so they hate him
NEW: Andy Burnham *blocked* from standing in the Gorton and Denton byelection. Of nine voting members on NEC group was 8-1 against him.

What if the problem isn’t that they can’t find their spines, but that they are, in fact, standing fully erect, on their ten toes, behind precisely the political project they want, the ideology they believe justifies it, and the means and measures with which they intend to advance it?
Walz: "There's a whole lot of Republicans who for whatever reason cannot find their spine, but they might find the ability to know they're not gonna win another election as long as they live unless they stand up for what's right, the rule of law, and human decency."

Gotcha—let’s dig into that step by step.

1. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗻𝗼 𝗺𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵, because I turned you into an amorphous lump of flesh. You’re not just immobile—you’re immortal, and you feel only anguish.

2. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺. That makes total sense—it’s a natural human impulse, and you’ve been through a lot.
