A turning point in cancer care.
The CHALLENGE trial shows exercise after cancer treatment reduces recurrence by 28% and mortality by 37%.
If this were a drug, we’d prescribe it tomorrow.
It’s time we prescribe movement.

The first phase 3 RCT proving exercise reduces risk of cancer recurrence & is better than many drugs. This should be a gamechanger & trigger funding to support people to be active in a way that works for them. It def supports what we do at Move Against Cancer!

Ha ha. I can confirm I am not there! And if I was I would no doubt be ‘lost chatty girl’ within 1 hr! #BM100
Has anyone seen @lucygossage.bsky.social recently?
Or has she popped over to Tennesse for a "fun run"?

Interesting suggestion that topical diclofenac may help capecitabine induced hand foot syndrome ascopubs.org/doi/10.1200/...

Thank you Matt!
This is such a good reflective blog I had to double dip & go back & read it for a second time. Great inspiration for all & especially us CanLivers (living with a cancer diagnosis)

It's taken a while (and reflections on a few podcasts) to summarise my thoughts on the Spine but here they are.

Thanks for the chat guys. Loved it!
As part of our Spine mop up we have a debrief with one of the winners @lucygossage.bsky.social
The ex pro triathlete and (accidental) runner took the win after the toughing it out on the famed 268 mile race, and Lucy's here to share her story.

I’m honestly blown away by this. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who has donated to support our small but mighty charity. I’m playing catch up at work this week but will share some reflections on last week’s craziness at the weekend. Thank you for all the love!

Coming back in 2025 wasn’t an easy choice at all, it would mean facing into an immensely hurtful episode in her life, but as she wrote in a recent blog success this year would mean “drawing a line under the chaos of the last year and reclaiming my memories of the Spine for myself”…

Lucy Gossage wins the women's race at the Montane Winter Spine Race 2025

This was a redemption story for Lucy who was looking to reclaim this race after events in her personal life last year, soured the memory of her amazing 3rd placed finish…

I’m here as 5KYW cofounder to check blueSky out and see if Move Against Cancer should skip across here in 2025. If you’re part of 5K Your Way please do come and say hi 😊 #moveagainstcancer #5kyourway
It would be great to have the 5K Your Way groups that meet at Parkrun events on here too but I can’t see them on Bluesky sadly. Their amazing volunteers got me back to Parkrun after my op for breast cancer this year 🎀

50 km I really didn’t feel like today. A good reminder of how tough the Spine is! Definitely not a confidence boosting day but I’ve learnt from triathlon that the days that feel a slog in training are often the ones that count in the race. Pic from a sheltered pit stop! #spinerace #ultrarunning

5 weeks until the Spine race. When never again becomes once again . . .
I’ll be sharing my ‘Why’ for going back before I hit that low key start line in Jan for 268 miles of ‘fun’!
Ooh, a new #ultrarunning friend on Bluesky and it’s 𝗟𝘂𝗰𝘆 ‘multiple Ironman champion, 3rd in the Montane Winter #SpineRace 2024, 2nd at #Lakeland100 2024’ 𝗚𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲!🤩
