I cannot stress this enough, as with Patel, Braverman, Sunak et al, do not bring Mahmood's background or religion into your arguments against policies. Racism is racism, no matter how "progressive" you think you make it sound. Counter the ideas, the inhumanity, the cruelty.

Hope we’ll be seeing the phrase “Billionaire Sex Offenders” become as widespread as “Asian Grooming Gang” and that white working class salt of the earth heroes will emerge to deal with them and protect our children etc etc

This screams "I learned that the Iliad was meant to be spoken, not written, at a TEDx talk about How To Land VC Funding"
*maximum alpha at 1.25x speed* continuously lives on in my head, unfortunately.

See what’s happening. A Trumpist US media company has taken over Channel 5. Another US company is gunning for ITV. Our social media is saturated by Musk’s calls for civil war in the UK. The BBC is the last thing standing, and Trump/Johnson are trying to bring it down

I would put more money on continuing to harvest infinite energy from the sun over assuming that forcing everyone to use The Machine The Lies To You is the steady basis of an entire economy
A fun question. In 5 years time, what looks better? The US’s enormous bet & capex on AI? Or China’s equally enormous bet and capex on renewables?
China has made cheap, clean energy available in huge quantities. The world should take the win econ.st/4oqFszB

I once saw an otter fellating himself in the water.

Kept spinning like a wheel

Waterboarding while sucking himself off, like some stupid human doing something really stupid for a bj.

(I have video)
THEY ALSO DROWN FEMALES AND USE THEIR CARCASSES FOR SEX UNTIL THE FALL APART.
Sea otters have underarm pockets that they keep food and their favourite stones in.

My sympathies to Satan, who has to find a new job.

Went trick or treating as myself last night. Because nothing seems to terrify some of the locals as much as an immigrant.

There's a whole movie about this kind of person.

No mention of this anywhere on The Guardian's website.
So the Renters' Rights Bill completed Parliament today. It has taken some time and I think we've forgotten what an important and really substantial piece of legislation it is. A huge and valuable change is coming (even if we don't know exactly when yet).

notice the general mood of the timeline? how everyone is in a good mood and there’s a lot less misery and dooming? how there’s a lot of “we’re going to beat these assholes”?

anyway that’s why these events are important

That England has had its three worst harvests on record inside the past five years really should be being treated as a much bigger cause for concern than is currently the case. www.businessgreen.com/news/4520171...

Calling English a 'rip-off degree' is one of the most blatant exhibitions of personal barbarism I've ever seen. You've demonstrated nothing but the poverty of your own mind.

People who get upset about the singular they don’t understand that that was the *compromise* option. Back in my day the most popular non-binary pronoun was ze/hir/hirs, which would have taken a lot more work to adjust to than a pronoun already used in situations where someone’s gender is unknown!

On Yom Kippur many Jewish people in Britain have their phones off to mark the holy day.

As it ends at 723pm, some will hear the tragic Manchester news for the first time.

At that time, please join many of us to send a message of solidarity to British Jews. Thanks Together coalition for proposing.

This is so unexpected and good that it feels impossible?
Some good news.

London is meeting legal limits for toxic NO2 pollution for the first time – almost 200 years earlier than predicted – following the Mayor’s "world leading air pollution policies," City Hall announces.

The Ultra Low Emissions Zone - and similar policies - really do work.
