a perfidious thing 90s media did was associate the stereotype of the bully with sports via The Jock. sports are cool, you get to hang out with your friends, have fun, get good brain chemicals, and it took me forever to realise that because media told me it was for bad people.

I’m rooting against the evil team that cheats but also wraps itself in a patriotic facade. Which, if that’s not a metaphor for the country’s Whole Deal right now, I’m not sure what is.
