I often wonder how much better managed & executed systems we could have had in telecommunications & power networks had short sighted fools, adhering to Thatcher/Reagan economic theory, not sold off the fucking farm

Now, instead of innovation & a huge return on every $, we make the 1% richer

Remember when the public owned services and industries?

The profits from them were used to fun the losses for schools, hospitals, etc.

Now those profits are siphoned into the hands of a wealthy few who pay zero tax and offshore profits.

Meanwhile, taxpayers still fund all the loss-making sectors.

One ~182km x ~211km solar thermal plant could provide all of America’s electricity, including a fully-electrified land transport sector.

100% clean power from just 0.39% of U.S land.

That’s why renewables are constantly under attack from the fossil fuel industry and their paid mouthpieces.

And the world stands by idly. Telling us it's the 'rules based order'.
Wtf. US is just blasting random boats and murdering family men in the carribean and the media is writing about it like its normal.
US reportedly carries out 20th attack on a vessel in the Caribbean and Pacific, killing four people with 'no survivors'.

The OECD report has not gotten any coverage. It's why we are doing @thepointau.bsky.social - covering things that are not news, but should be.
So the Libs are irrelevant? Great we knew that. But an OECD report released overnight put the focus on the actual govt and the Safeguard Mechanism which is quite the dud

Comrades we need to be crystal clear that nature based offsetting is 100% bogus scientifically. It’s not “less effective” it’s entirely ineffective. And it’s not fixable. Indeed by providing a spurious justification for continuing fossil carbon emissions it’s counterproductive.

Here’s something that’s really important for everyone to understand.

If we design our cities just for cars, they fail everyone, including drivers.

If we design our cities with many great CHOICES in how to get around, they work better for everyone, including drivers.

Spread the word.

Not really, just passing through. I got curious what else I posted on the day I posted the Johnny Cash reference for which I was suspended, since it was back in Oct. I had posted book excerpts about things in the Epstein emails later released on the day they suspended me. bsky.app/profile/sara...
Yup, the NYT literally hired a reporter to plant puff pieces on Epstein! The NYC/DC media abetted Epstein because they were from the same social circles, circles that apparently do not have a problem with child rape. A page from HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT (it gets worse from there...)

The obscenity of #greed and #capitalism.
Homo Sapiens emerged about 300,000 years ago.

Imagine you gave an early Sapiens $9,000. And they looked at you and said “the fuck is this?”

But anyway, you piled up $9,000 Every Single Day since the first Sapiens walked the Earth.

You still wouldn’t have a trillion dollars.

Capitalism is fucked

Too rich to care about those less fortunate.
How stupid has it been for major western countries (inc US & Australia) to cut back on foreign aid to poorer, vulnerable countries and to vaccination programs in recent years.

Millions have died as a result.

But two years later, they haven't — and MA has collected $5.7B for infrastructure and public education.
