My yearly goals are different as I keep aging. Like no bruised toes or losing toenails from going downhill at pace. The goal makes my training unique. The secondary benefit - I move faster. In a 15k, shaved another minute per mile off my pace.

Every quarter, I map “me time.” A birds-eye view of what a week looks like if I hold space on certain days / times for exercise. Daily, I write my “to do” list with times for meetings / events and my exercise time. It’s been a good strategy for 3 decades.

One of favorite ways to keep pace for a long walk. I back time to start a few hours before closing of a park. Then, I have a hard deadline while trying to meet my mileage. Got my 8 miles done with 7 minutes to spare.

1K years ago, Timacuan lived here. Hiking their dump of oyster shells. It’s exposed on the bluffs overlooking the St John’s River - probably created by their garbage. Life was different a long time ago. We continue on.
