Look, they do not have the capacity or competence to do this at the scale they want you to fear they do, and your fear is precisely their greatest force multiplier. Everybody who is cowed into silence by their threats allows them a smaller pool to focus on.

There is nothing quite so clarifying about the typical American’s real politics than how they respond to *slight* inconveniences. The loudest denunciations I’ve heard of recent protests cited that they blocked traffic, and were therefore wrong.

If our federal government wasn’t this much of a fucking joke, actually starting these riots to begin with, I’d be lobbying for an independent federal agency that does nothing but investigate the police. Permanent special grand juries in EVERY. MAJOR. CITY.

Likely in light of the situation in LA, ICE leadership just put out a pretty outrageous message to politicians: “I’m demanding they stop.” He specifically calls out Mayor Wu and Hakeem Jeffries.

I have my own opinion brewing as I’ve been watching the show, but what do you all think about The Handmaid’s Tale? Is its lack of trans representation a form of TERF ideology or trans erasure? Did anyone feel it was conspicuously silent on this aspect of gender?

Hot take: LLMs and transformer based Ai generally should be restricted to people over 18. They’re probably 10x the threat that the internet was to education when I was in school, with few of the advantages.

So, Google has actually done it. I now no longer use it to find basic information. It’s become as useless for that as any other LLM, and more so than most.

I'l submit that Podcasting has been incredibly effective at showing people celebrities and the rich are often morons and conmen, who have little of interest to say, and less understanding of the world. The damage this has done to capitalism is probably more than they realize.
