Online Conference:

Adam Hanieh situates the Gulf monarchies’ oil-fuelled rise within shifting oil-cantered global capitalism and US–China rivalries, showing how great-power competition reshapes but fails to transform enduring regional domination.

We have to start, and face facts to decide what is to be done. Our politicians/media/special interests use simplified, half truths and lies about migration to divert our attention, presenting migrants as scape-goat for deeper problems in our economy and society.

There are over 1️⃣6️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ gas & oil lobbyists at COP30 👇
What a shocking failure. Would you allow tobacco lobbyists into a world health conference?

There will be 0️⃣ lobbyists at the National Emergency Briefing on the #climate and #nature crisis on 27th November.

We need coordinated plan, which puts well-being of whole country at the centre, not monied interests lobbying politicians and funding their “think- tanks”. Political parties fighting for your vote - and prioritising their power/tiny “tribe”can, and will not, provide it. #nationalemergencybriefing
Gas companies are mugging us off. They're raking in high profits while our household bills go up, our pubs close down and our high streets hand on by a thread. I've had enough, haven't you? Let's make the UK Government reign in greedy gas for good. act.gp/3JHKh8p

Every year, $100s billions that should be funding schools, hospitals & social care is disappearing into tax havens to fuel crime, conflict & new private jets.

The UK facilitates 26% of this global tax abuse, and has the power to expose it.

Demand they act.

Yesterday in Parliament I said that the government should leave X.
🔉What dangers does X pose to our democracy? And should the government stop using it?

Good to hear yesterday from @sundersays.bsky.social and @petergeoghegan.bsky.social on the immense risk of X as it ignores legal obligations and its owner tries to influence UK politics.
