This is the playbook, folks.

If you're not paying attention now and doing something about it, then you're going to have to sit down the rest of your life because democracy is being taken away.

Do not be quiet in this moment.

Senator Padilla was driven violently to his knees–as if made to kneel before the authority of the executive–because the administration called his questions “disrespectful”.

This should offend not just the other 99 Senators. It should offend the conscience of this country.

I will be damned if I allow a bunch of Confederate-waving January 6th apologists give the American people a lecture on flag waving.

There is ZERO reason to enter an argument about patriotism with people who still worship traitors to America 150+ years later.

They. Are. Breaking. The. Law.

has a letter from the editor this morning about covering the George Floyd protests. It's... interesting.

And any future book. I have no desire to ever see or hear words from Jake Tapper again.
Not that that's anything new. Tapper was a lightweight wannabe reporter from day one. Why anyone thought he could write a book when he couldn't write his own reportage for broadcast is beyond me.
Tank that book.
Jake Tapper can take his book and shove it. The end.

"Exaggeration"?

If the Republican bill is passed as-is, then 13.7 million will lose health coverage. That's what CBO said, the result of 7.7m from the GOP bill, 4.2m from tax credits GOP isn't extending, and 1.8m from a Trump marketplace rule GOP isn't rescinding or modifying.

13.7m. It's a fact.
In the first 15 minutes of the E&C markup, the number 13.7 million uninsured has already come up twice. It's an exaggeration of what the GOP bill would do. www.nytimes.com/2025/05/13/u...

In Georgia, a mom facing eviction reached out to DFCS for help. They offered her nothing. Soon the agency took her kids away because of "inadequate housing."

The state then paid *$6,200 a month* to house her kids in foster care.

One of the most important and infuriating stories I read this year:
When Families Need Housing, Georgia Will Pay for Foster Care Rather Than Provide Assistance
In more than 700 cases over five years, Georgia reported inadequate housing as the sole reason for taking a child into foster care, a WABE and ProPublica analysis found. Advocates say it would be chea...

Rev Barber is the architect of Moral Mondays in North Carolina, which were weekly protests at the Capitol in Raleigh.
BREAKING: Police just surrounded Rev. William Barber, prominent activist and pastor, as he and others prayed in the U.S. Capitol Rontunda.

Police then expelled everyone (including press!) from the Rotunda to (presumably) arrest them.

I've covered protests here a lot. Never seen anything like it.
