The Washington Post published a clear video of federal agents removing Alex Pretti's handgun moments before he was fatally shot. There's nothing in the video to suggest Pretti even reached for his weapon.

An interesting bit of history:
In 1916, Denmark sold the Danish West Indies to the US. You may know of them as the US Virgin Islands. As part of this sale, the US recognized Danish authority over Greenland.

The text of the complete, ratified agreement is here: www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/...

2026 is going to be a very dark year for US foreign policy, where everything that was built over many decades by leaders for collective security is torn apart by one madman, but only because people in his own party remain silent.

This is what happened in our neighborhood yesterday. ICE snatched a human being off of our streets, roughed them up badly, and then pepper sprayed legal observers as they documented it all. This is a daily occurrence happening all throughout Minnesota right now.

Trump's message grousing that the Norwegian government had not given him the Nobel Peace Prize (which of course is not in their remit) was in response to a message from the Norwegian & Finnish leaders urging him to de-escalate. Which is material new information.

He should be asking them for their ID & demanding they get the fuck out of his country
You should already know, but if you don't I am going to tell you.

ICE don't care about the law, and they don't really care about deporting immigrants either.

They are thugs there to intimidate and arrest anyone they want or anyone who opposes Donald Trump.

To cite some examples:

- Tighten screws on US digital giants (taxes, fines, even bans)
- Export taxes disrupting US supply chains eg pharma
- Exclude US firms from European procurement, inc defence

The started by broadcasting climate change deniers vs scientists. Weird economists vs authorities Nothing changes
I understand the pressures on the BBC, but Radio 4's coverage of the Minneapolis shooting is an example of "bad balance".

It's all "the Trump regime says she was a terrorist, but Democrats say it was murder".

The BBC has the footage. It doesn't have to treat truth and falsehood as equally valid.

This is also a field test.

If the press lets them muddy the waters on executing a woman in Minneapolis despite multiple witnesses and video recordings clearly depicting what happened, the message they'll take away is that there's nothing they can't get away with.

Nothing.
