Aargh. I just accidentally released a single. Everybody Knows is a song I've been sitting awkwardly on since I was about 20. It's about long nights, feelings, and most of all, about two minutes and thirty seconds. Please enjoy 🎧

I've binned Little Ways's Spotify-ness off. Not in a dramatic way, it just seemed stupid to keep paying distrokid for it. If you were the one person who streamed our music on there, make yourself known and I'll send you mp3s

"average musician makes $12 a month on Spotify" factoid actualy just statistical error. average musician makes $0 a month. Spiders Swift, who lives in cave & makes over $10,000 each day, is an outlier adn should not have been counted
“Average musician makes $12 a month on Spotify. The fact that they are not even able to sell a record and it’s taken from them by rich motherfuckers on streaming platforms who get paid royally by record labels,Ticketmaster, merch companies. They’re all fucking getting paid, except for the musician.”

Micky Dolenz is reporting that Bobby Hart has died. Along with Tommy Boyce, Hart wrote the influential garage rock stomp “(I’m Not Your) Steppin’ Stone” and the jangly classic "Last Train to Clarksville." The latter is brilliant. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSzs...

I never bothered investigating The Goon Sax further, but from the name alone I'm pretty sure my more with-it friends and acquaintances were enjoying watching a full length set of what was basically the Benny Hill theme.

Always struck me as that the Beatles did two diametrically opposed songs early in their career:

Money
Can't Buy Me Love

(I know they didn't write Money)
This post got me to thinking about musical opposites, e.g.

• Love Will Keep Us Together - Captain & Tennille
• Love Will Tear Us Apart - Joy Division

Anyone think of any other examples of this?
Another fun track I've discovered while working on the latest main episode, this is what The Captain from Captain and Tennille was doing in 1964 -- surf-jazz. It is as entirely unlike "Love Will Keep Us Together" as you can get.

After hearing the name occasionally for 20-30 years I finally got round to listening to God Is My Co-pilot. Based on the name alone I thought they'd sound like Stone Temple Pilots. They do not. Interesting, but not very easy listening. Also, the artwork for their best-of is quite NSFW

Elizabeth Cotten, folk/blues music pioneer, was born on this day in 1895. She taught herself to play the guitar and banjo as a child. She was left-handed but she played a guitar for a right-hander, meaning she played everything upside down. A little thread!

Look, I'm not going to tell anybody what to post, but engaging with the Meta AI in order to dunk on it or "catch it lying" is still engaging with it.
Apparently the discourse today is going to be every single person posting their conversations where they dunk on the Meta AI.

It's weird hearing Alright by Supergrass on the radio. It's not a song any more, so much as an audio cue. It's like to Gen Xers what Boccherrini's Minuet is to Georgians youtu.be/CssLQR46HAw (yes I Googled "classical music posh" to find what that's called)

I'm playing Stroh fiddle on this, which is kinda like an acoustic otamatone from the 1910s. It sounds nothing like a violin, and in places barely like music, but it fits in with the vibe of the record really well. 🎧
Big AC news: I have an album coming out! Canol Y Galon is about the imagined future of South Wales' railways, family and friends, and memories of childhood, among other things. It's chaotic and pretty, it's out on November 29th, and you can preorder it here: aclavender.bandcamp.com/album/canol-...
