When the stakes of going without COVID-19 testing are so high, why should it be singled out for payment? What little the province can save on RATs, we will pay in exponents to expedite waitlists & provide for those who are now permanently disabled from repeated infections. 30/?

2: "Provincially supplied kits do not expire until 2026". Will SARS-CoV-2 have ceased to exist by then? Doubtful. What about the people who had no idea that the distribution program had ended? Stocks have dried up & they've been left with no way to replenish their supply. 20/?

• Provincially supplied kits do not expire until May or June 2026 [commentary: As if SARS-COV-2 would've disappeared by then. And what about the people who missed the announcement?]
• Test kits are not needed as they once were because COVID-19 is in decline [commentary: We'll still need a way to test for it.]
• Kits have been distributed for free in B.C. since 2020, with demand on a steep decline [commentary: SOURCE? And so what?]

I have been trying to raise awareness about the recent cuts to pandemic preparedness by provincial institutions in BC for the past 1½ months. Most of the cuts were not announced to the public beforehand and media coverage has been scant. 1/?

The pandemic has revealed a disturbing number of people in healthcare (especially leadership) are there just because they were good at memorizing stuff, rather than because of any real depth of understanding of health (or empathy for patients).

Can’t help cycling thru the gaslighting as I sit here sick w/what is still unconfirmed, but what I suspect is #Covid19. Like the time when I took my son to the doctor about his heart palpitations & fatigue & after saying I was worried about POTs, she replied, “Yes, that’s all the rage right now.”

In Nov 2022 we exposed the fact that public health officials in *all* provinces and territories had been receiving a staggering quantity of high quality information on the prevalence and severity of Long Covid since as early as July 2020...
