I have been trying to raise awareness about the recent cuts to pandemic preparedness by provincial institutions in BC for the past 1½ months. Most of the cuts were not announced to the public beforehand and media coverage has been scant. 1/?

DRIPA started out as weak sauce.

Any further watering down would be a confirmation that Eby is all talk and no action.

And Eby risks a world of hurt if he caters to apartheidists.

You what related thought has me enraged? This is a Health Canada approved RAT. And yet Bonnie Henry @cdcofbc.bsky.social @bcndp.bsky.social would rather sick little kids wait HOURS in the wait room than quickly administer tests.
Oh, f**k you, Bonnie Henry, @cdcofbc.bsky.social, @bcndp.bsky.social @bctf.bsky.social @ipaccanada.bsky.social for stigmatizing masks and choosing to infect all the kids INCLUDING VULNERABLE ONES instead of cleaning the damn air & 'fessing up to your incompetence re: aerosol transmission. #bcpoli

INCONSISTENT USE OF HIGH-FILTRATION RESPIRATORS 🗣️🔥🔥🔥💯

A far-right party in Canada is imploding over a 22-year-old staffer’s extreme posting online.

I got my hands on audio from @antihate.ca that might leave Canadians asking how the hell someone like this got into politics at all.

It involves Diagolon, "remigration" and some trojan-horse-style plots:

This EXACTLY why it's crucial to have the proposed revisions to CSA Standard Z94.4 (Selection, use, and care of respirators) accepted and adopted. It covers ALL industries.

Healthcare workers must NOT continue to be exempt from the same protections offered in other sectors!

(and if infection control kills a patient, it's even easier to deal with - they'll just say they were "vulnerable" and the usual sycophants will make the story about how sad Dr Henry is that people expect her to be competent)

I cannot believe people buy the claim these muppets understand science.
The negligent, outdated beliefs of medicine's management class (everywhere; from the UK inquiry here) contrasted with well-understood science from 👉1934👈. If you got sick after being told that COVID falls to the ground within 3 feet and N95/FFP2/FFP3 respirators aren't needed, 👉it was their fault.👈

OH and S standards are different for HCWs and for the life of me (and them) I can't understand why.

For years, public health bent under pressure to downplay masks. When the same institutions now say “mask up,” it’s not a flip-flop—it’s a warning. If they’re willing to recommend masks again, the airborne threat is serious.
Finally.
A Public Health division released useful public recommendations to helo protect each other from illness spread (including airborne pathogen spread)

claiming you "don't know anyone" who's had long COVID is statistically implausible - unless you only know like <3-4 people

All of it was bad cliches that were rolled out but it’s telling that it still got so much attention among the western left—the western left has really not reckoned with its own Orientalism as it leads to uncritical views of contemporary Chinese authoritarianism

The Central Error of the Pandemic…

Is that of running pandemic management by laissez-faire socioeconomic principles.

If you grasp this, all the other errors fall into place as the inevitable consequence of following that line of thought. 🧵 1/x

There's an inconvenient truth for public health leaders who insisted COVID doesn't spread in schools.

I mean, not too inconvenient. It's not like there are any standards of professional conduct.

Is killing people out of sheer incompetence embarrassing? Or is it too normalized now?

The thing that is also frustrating, outside of the situation detailed below, is that ppl act like those of us who still mask are having some kind of grandiose “virtue signaling” tantrum….🙄

The reason why we wear respirator masks is bc ppl behave like this regularly & it’s disgusting & dangerous.
Very cool of my coworker to show up with COVID because the HOSPITAL I work for doesn't have any restrictions for employees with COVID anymore. And even cooler than my other coworker thinks her bee pollen hand spray will do the trick 👉👉
