There are far more aggressive legal moves D's could be making right now...constitutional challenges, injunctions, discovery that would make agencies sweat. Not a lack of options. They lack appetite. You don’t always lose because you’re outmatched. But you DO always lose when you won’t fight.

Turns out there was a cabal of elites screwing everyone over. The corruption Anand Giridharadas unravels from mountains of Epstein documents is deeper and darker than the surface-level scandals involving the powerful and underage girls.

Jeffrey Epstein's emails reveal how elites are "more loyal to each other" than to the places and communities they come from, Anand Giridharadas

Ignoring Epstein's crimes against women and girls was no problem for this network as long as it benefited them, he says.

Peter Thiel has been open about this for a long time. Trump is a way to break the republic, which can then be replaced by “free economic zones” with oligarchs as dictators and tech as a taskmaster for helpless humans without any rights. (1/2)
Definitely seems like they destroyed the country on purpose.

Federal force used casually & defended reflexively.
Legal limits dismissed as technicalities.
Open talk of dictatorship reframed as realism.

For all the discussion of doxxing federal agents, there’s essentially no discussion of how those agents are taking steps that attach severe punitive measures that stretch across wide swaths of the federal bureaucracy against people acting lawfully.
A Minnesota woman observing ICE agents in her car was cornered on one-way streets. An agent approached, called her by name—citing facial recognition. Days later, her Global Entry and TSA privileges were revoked, with no explanation.

@aliciamenendez.bsky.social #theWeeknight You showed a video which may be Alex Pretti kicking an ICE SUV taillight. You need to make it clear 1) you don't know if it is him or AI and 2) if it is him, it doesn't warrant being shot in the back. MAKE IT CLEAR. Don't let them victim blame Alex.

I'm begging the media to state this clearly -- we are all in danger now because of the deliberate choices made by Trump's administration and RFK Jr in particular.

When the next major outbreak of a preventable disease strikes, they'll point the finger at other people. But it'll be their disaster.
We had eradicated this disease.

And now because of targeted disinformation, children, immunocompromised people, elderly folks, and so many others become victims in this proxy war and we have a new avoidable pandemic.

This isn't about "training issues." The murderer who executed Renee Good has been with ICE for 10 years, and according to DHS, the murderer who executed Alex Pretti has been there for 8 years.

These aren't "new recruits," or officers that can be "retrained." ICE can't be reformed. Abolish ICE.

All of you cheering that Trump is backing down. He isn't. He and his republicans want you to believe that this has gone too far. No, they just want the votes for the funding bill. This is all about the bill.

We need everyone we can get in this fight against a fascist takeover.

If your first instinct to someone being politically mobilized by all this is to give them a sneering "well, what took you so long?" you don't actually care about our winning this; you just want to be able to say you were right.

There are approximately 3 million undocumented persons in Texas and Florida, and there are about 100,000 in Minnesota. Ask yourself why ICE has been deployed to MN, but not even close to the same way in FL and TX. This isn't about immigration, it is all about politics and retribution.
