The extreme Republican agenda is happening right here at home. As the only Democrat on the Exec Council, Karen Liot Hill is pulling back the curtain with a powerful presentation that shows how Project 2025 is already in motion in NH.

A few weeks ago we might have speculated that this is probably the work of Project 2025, Stephen Miller, and Mango Mussolini. After the GOP Congress lined up behind the recision bill though, it’s now clear that this is indeed what our government did, and what MAGA voted for.
the USA built a system of higher education so good that smart/rich people from across the world came here, spending billions to learn here, subsidizing education for Americans while spending money to live in our cities and towns. our government arbitrarily decided we should stop doing that
The US could see a 30-40% decline in new international student enrollment, resulting in nearly $7 billion in lost revenue and more than 60,000 fewer American jobs. https://www.nafsa.org/fall-2025-international-student-enrollment-outlook-and-economic-impact

THIS. My spouse and I discuss THIS all the time. My naïveté was stunning when in 2015 I thought “We just need to explain, using historical examples, why an orange administration is a bad idea”. There is a significant minority that has no interest in being persuaded and they can run the table.
Today I will be spending my time reflecting on how I spent most of my life not understanding that around 20-25% of the population of the earth are fascists and whether it is even possible to build a society that gives people who have no desire to share their world with the other 75-80% agency.

And this doesn't even mention the DOZENS of NH dams classified as "high hazard" - meaning they are in a condition that will likely cause death if they do not get repaired. Another consequence of GOP tax cuts. #NHPolitics

Has anyone asked Governor Kelley Ayotte how she plans to fund a NH State Emergency Management Agency (NHSEMA?) now that Kristi Noem has told us this is a state responsibility?

Perhaps a state rep can raise it in the House or Senate?

Hope people are still happy with who they voted into the statehouse. I mean, seriously, a quarter of Ossipee is on Medicaid. Hope everyone enjoys the Medicare cuts, too.

Did the Gop bother to look? Real people needing Medicaid by NH town by county below is Carroll County

Once again, embarrassed to be from NH. We truly are the Texas of the NE.

EXACTLY. The media and anyone speaking about this matter needs to NAME IT. These are political assassination. This is UN-AMERICAN and needs to be condemned by everyone-I am looking at you NH GOP.
Name it: Political assassination of state policymakers & their families.

Because of their beliefs.
In America.

Republicans claim it’s a “tight budget year.”

In reality, over the past decade they've handed hundreds of millions to the ultra-wealthy—and now they’re downshifting the cost onto your property taxes.

This isn’t fiscal responsibility. #NHPolitics

The problem with the Republican cuts? They Cut You - and your priorities - Out.

Even where Democrats fought - and won - we’re still worse off than before. That’s the legacy of this budget - moving backwards and driving up the cost of housing, childcare, healthcare, and energy. #nhpolitics

The one thing you can count on is if the NH legislature is doing it, it WILL NOT benefit the average NH resident.
The Republican Medicaid Income Tax will drive up already sky-high health care costs for New Hampshire families—hitting those who can least afford it the hardest.

It’s not reform. It’s a cruel cost shift. #nhpolitics

Sometimes, despite loving my state, I am ASHAMED to call myself a NH resident.
Removing a Pride Month promo feels worse than not even having one.

It just emphasizes that we have a government that is bigoted

This is shameful

The state agency in charge of promoting tourism in New Hampshire deleted a social media post celebrating Pride Month, after receiving pushback from some Republicans.

The move has angered LGBTQ activists, who accuse the state of wavering on its commitment to inclusion.

ICE was created post 9/11 to combat terrorist threats. If they aren't combatting the number one terror threat to America - Domestic Violent Extremism and white supremacists - then they don't need to exist as an agency.

Ooooof. Funny, not funny. :)
I'm just glad one of these men has the nuclear codes and the other has all our personal data.

Oh I bet you wouldn’t, Kristi, as you are literally gaslighting the American people lying and using “alternative facts”, which for anyone following along, those aren’t facts at all.
HASSAN: If POTUS tries to suspend habeas corpus & a federal court reverses him, will you comply w/the court order, or will you follow POTUS's directive?

NOEM: We are following all federal court orders

H: That is not true for anybody who reads the news

N: I wouldn't rely on the news for your facts
May 20, 2025 at 5:41 PM
Buzz, your answer is incorrect. Kristi you have been eliminated from round one of “Know Your Constitution”
So Noem is shaping up to be Himmler.

HASSAN: What is habeas corpus?

NOEM: Habeas corpus is a constitutional right that the president has to be able to remove people from this country

HASSAN: That's incorrect

A reminder: Both sheriffs and local police have the right to refuse ICE detainers. These requests are voluntary and not legally enforceable under federal law. Across the country, many sheriffs and police departments choose not to cooperate and that choice is fully within their legal rights.

YES. Remember this at town meeting time. Why are your property taxes going up? (ESPECIALLY in small, rural communities without a large or diverse (ie corporate, manufacturing) tax base)
