Please share this thread. It is important that political scientists, in Europe and across the world, understand why EPSS exists and why we are encouraging people to attend our inaugural conference, in Belfast next June.
EPSA have announced that they will hold a conference in July 2026.

😵‍💫 We understand that there might be some confusion about EPSS and EPSA.

👉🏽 So we thought we would clarify some things.

Many in UK media argue that Reform cannot be grouped with other European radical right parties as their positions are not comparable. As a result we see terminology like "hard right". In the new CHES on the left-right scale, authoritarianism, immigration, anti-elitism you can see this is wrong 1/

CHES 2024 is out on chesdata.eu. Many, many thanks to our CHES experts! Now enjoy playing with the data. Updated trend file to follow.

Nothing to do with your post, Christopher -- which I agree with.

Am I the only one feeling ambivalent about the flag waving in messages? Can't we just use the paper names.

Yes, I came across your super article only recently. Our article (SSNR # 5072375 or my website) uses these GSS data on majors to produce a continuous variable tapping human-centeredness of someone's education to explain a range of political attitudes. Results consistent with yours!

Super graph! Level of education is a strong predictor for Gal/ Tan voting. In other work we show that this does not exhaust the effect of the education cleavage. What people study (field of study) matters too. See my website for more hooghe.web.unc.edu

GAL is green, alternative, libertarian and TAN is traditional, authoritarian, nationalist. Check my website (hooghe.web.unc.edu) for more.

How do voters navigate fragmenting party landscapes with parties behaving in an ever more strategic matter? In this short CUP book‬, we suggest that group identities mediate the link between social structure and ideological party blocks.
